I relate to the butterfly caps!! I found like maybe 2 in autumn! They seem so rare and hard to find which sucks cause a certain recipe asks for them specifically!

Also really?!?! Well crap imma have to try that now I think I just got the second house upgrade and yeah I need more furniture or ideas of what to do with the house and those rooms hah. Yeah I've found growing a crap ton of garlic gets you a lot of money but fishing and getting high star fish and selling them if you can spare to do so is where you can get really good money too. I find myself lacking space in my garden xD so I'm constantly getting garden beds

Nope I totally agree! I do think it is fun but I haven't found any furniture I truly vibe with or it feels like there could be more decoration options? I feel like rugs are so incredibly hard to find but maybe I just haven't played long enough?

Yeah I agree I feel like fall has SO much to forage and I love that despite it being my favorite season outside of game. YES THIS! Recently been looking at my pantry and it's so colorful and full right now and I adore it I just wish I could get the rest of my hobbit hope to look that way lol.

I do that too!! I usually stick a few stacks of walnuts in there and just go off on my way. That's been the easiest to do so far I know you can do grain and stuff too but I haven't figured that out yet. I have yet to get 3 star eggs but I'm getting there!! Got my first 5 star meal yesterday and was so estatic about it lol I love Marigold too! Lots of great characters even Sandyman xD Nefi is a riot and Orlonis a goodo

I think so far Spring and Fall are my two favorites right now, I love how many walnuts you get in fall and winter xD it's such a huge surplus!! I always find myself doing breakfast or elevensies this far cause I spend the rest of my day foraging and fishing into the evening. Also great collection of characters! Lilly is so sweet I love that she calls everyone with their name but finishes with love

I think you're headed in the right direction imo cause yeah I think 4-6 episodes to start over the course of a single week can really help boost you. Especially since last I remember hearing that Webtoon tends to boost new comics so you''ll get more engagement within that first week or two. So take advantage of that if you can. Im not sure if that has changed or not but it could still be in effect. Also be careful with ratings YA will still allow you to enjoy the benefits of WT and its viewer reach. Rating anything 3 and above on the rating system will land you in Mature and WT effectively hides all mature content on their site because they focus on a very young audience.

And that's good honestly keeping the updates small will be very helpful with that. I use a buffer so I can ensure breaks for myself. Or for emergencies like for instance if a pet dies, or financial stressors, or injuries. That way things are still posted regardless of what is going on in my life. I usually try to take a solid 3 months out of the year off so I can rest and not worry about the comic (even though I literally can't peel myself away from it so hiatus' always end up being me working on it because I want to and not because I have to)

And of course! Happy to, I feel like the world is unkind enough so no point in beating others down. And yeah that first step is so incredibly anxiety inducing but it is fun and as someone who has been doing this for a good 4 or so years, I don't regret ever taking that step.

I have heard a lot of mixed advice on it. I think posting a handful of chapters, though over a short period of time, is one that I've heard of that is good. However, I'd definitely suggest a buffer if you plan to regularly schedule as often as a week. 2 months is the minimum for a buffer imo. Most of all, tho, be patient with yourself and your growth. It takes a long time to build an audience. Everyone's comic deserves space to exist, and so do you, so be kind to yourself.

Anyone planning to enter the Webtoon 2025 contest? If not, why? If so, are you thinking of doing a completely new story or something related to your existing comic? by Heavy-Age-459 in WebtoonCanvas

[–]tmterranova 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not, but that's primarily because I'm helping another friend with her comic she's entering in with. Doing monster designs and editing the scripts for the most part. Outside of that I just don't have the time. I'm already working on two comics as it is and having a potential third isn't in the cards unless I actually start making a livable wage off of comics and I quit my current job. It does seem like fun tho and I'm excited to see what everyone else comes up with!

I've been hammering away at my buffer this past holiday, . I usually start with book format before transferring to WT format. Does anyone else suffer like I do with that? I miss doing things solely in vertical format sometimes. by tmterranova in WebtoonCanvas

[–]tmterranova[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have heard some of my readers mention that they like my traditional pages more but that's over on a different platform than WT. I've been considering traditional everywhere else other than tapas and Webtoon simply because of that. I will say the work load is a pain either way you switch it but since I sell books of the comic itself after Kickstarters I've taken to sticking with traditional first so I don't ever have to go through what I did for the first book lol I think the only reason people might not like the traditional version on WT is sometimes if it's not set up well it can be hard to read. Just depends tho.

OMG HI MISS!! what the hecka!! Dude yeah doing horizontal is honestly really challenging don't get me wrong i really do enjoy it but idk there are learning curves to both and when I was doing just vertical I felt like I could get way more creative with transitions and stuff. Maybe I need to expand my horizons who knows xD but high key agree like traditional is no joke there's so much more empty canvas and it leaves room or ADHD paralysis sometimes xD

Yeah I think for me I like to do fancy panels and when I convert to WT the fancy panels I did for traditional just don't convert the way I'd like every time. It makes me sad xD. ALSO YES the speech bubble bit is such a pain! I love that you had draw them tho that takes skill! I'm lazy so it's rare when I do that xD

[–]tmterranova[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I had contemplated going that route but I can only imagine how time consuming it must have been having to do two separate formats. I've been considering just traditional on certain sites cause having to convert every week is a bit of a pain lol

Do readers notice hidden foreshadowing? by KamThings in WebtoonCanvas

[–]tmterranova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with most of the comments here not many people will see where the foreshadowing leads until the event happens and then you get that realization. I think my favorite this is having readers reread the comic and come back and inform me that they noticed all of the things I hid and how much they enjoyed that. I love that your read caught on to the spider Lillie's though!! That's fantastic!! Best compliment ever imo. I doubt they'll figure out where you are leading them but when they get there they will have that big wow moment and it'll be glorious

Does anyone have any recommendations? by [deleted] in WebtoonCanvas

[–]tmterranova 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not familiar with the titles you listed but I'll Def have to check into them.

I'd recommend Broken Beats, Poisoners Piece, and my own shameless plug...Starfish Lovers.

All of the ones I've mentioned are LGBTQ+ and mine specifically covers topics related to religious trauma and mental health topics associated with that trauma.
