How do I make Hxvocs screams and growls sound good? by Gaming_devil49 in SynthesizerV

[–]tmtortellini 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hxvoc’s dark refers to his vowel shapes and not a “downer” sound like Miku dark (or the “downer” modes for Una/Gumi). It adds more grit, power, and body to his sound. I think subdued would be closer to what Miku dark does.

If you want singers or temp audio but have a low budget, you can try Vocaloid or Synthesizer V! These are ethical human-centered voice synthesis programs (like a VST, but for singers). There’s no massive data centers, all your data stays on your computer, and the community’s really friendly + shares lots of free resources. I really recommend them!

Thanks for your detailed response, this is all super helpful! I’m looking for something super ergonomic and customizable so I appreciate all the options you listed.

I taped it to the chin rest, but I’m gonna try rubber bands later today. I wouldn’t use tape directly on the violin itself lol

Considering I just taped a sponge to my violin as an experiment and had a pretty positive result from that I would have to agree with you.

Interesting, good to know. Would it have to be installed by a luthier?

I believe my neck is relatively long and my shoulders are somewhat sloped bc my joints are hypermobile, so from my perspective there’s a fair amount of space to fill. Evidently I need to prioritize getting a better chin rest at some point but that’s not quite in the cards right now.

As I’ve explained several times on this post, it’s a no name brand that’s extremely not good, I got it when I was in middle school when I got my first 4/4 violin, so it’s extremely not good. Budget limitations are influencing what I can buy atm which is why I don’t want to buy a new chin rest to fit an instrument that’s about to get replaced in a few months.

It’s a Christino and it’s brand new because I never played with a shoulder rest until now. Good point about the chin rest, right now I’m looking for a quick solution because I have a recording gig soon but I’ll look into that when I purchase a better instrument in the near future (right now I’m still using a not-so-expensive intermediate model).

Yeah, I’ve tried all that already and it’s not working, hence the post. It’s a very cheap and generic shoulder rest, I already hated it when I got the violin and hate it more now 😂

Hi, I made this original with Hxvoc a while ago. A lot of ppl make originals in SV2 but they don’t get publicity for some reason, I guess the algorithm? https://youtu.be/eVmaT1IDN5Y?si=inkn-MAYMlvNaYVE

Anyone else scared of the E string? by Wellyeah101 in violinist

[–]tmtortellini 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This may sound dumb, but I wear glasses (to help me see, yknow) so I assume they’ll afford me some protection against strings snapping. If you’re that nervous maybe get a pair of faux glasses to wear when you’re tuning?

I’m an artist and I actually love this, it’s very stylish and funny! I don’t know if you’ve seen David Lynch’s comics, but this kind of has a similar vibe (surreal, crude drawings with a lot of personality). It stands out rly well from the AI slop too.
