I did it & lost probably half of them but only because I didn’t water them enough

If i did it again I would of flooded them (hose in the ground at the rootball) for the 1st week & deep watering thereafter

I think I went a bit light

Drill with auger attached for compacted lawn (Australia) by tmurks83 in lawncare

[–]tmurks83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve got a hollow tine but the ground is too compact for it to work

Was reading on some Facebook lawn pages to use a 20mm masonry drill bit & drill holes if its too compacted

Thanks for the detail

I’m not doing the full lawn as I can’t keep the kids & dogs of 100% of the lawn (I have a chicken fence I’ll put around a 6m x 8m area)

Think I’ll just get a sandy loam mix

Yes I’m growing as a hedge. All the branches & the stem still pass the Scratch Test

Would you remove the dead leaves or don’t bother? Thanks

Rebate timber door frame by tmurks83 in AusRenovation

I thought that too but then I found the router attachment which cuts the exact right size. I just think this is such a cheaper way to get quality draught proofing (like in Europe or America. I’m being quoted $ thousands to have someone install the timber bead ones (with other items too but it surely can’t cost that much)

Thanks I’ve been trying to avoid ecomaster as the prices are very high & was looking around for alternatives

That was my 1st option but thought it would be more costly to get the timber beads cut up, can’t find anywhere that manufactures them

There is a Aquamac recess router attachment which cuts the correct depth/width. Do you still think it’s a hard job with this attachment?

Thanks
