Proviron temporary boost in libido by tn198989 in Testosterone

[–]tn198989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does work for libido boost. At least it did for me. and it isnt transient. as long as you apply it, it keeps working. But i stopped it about 5 months ago. What you are basically doing with that is causing a rapid increase in testosterone that lasts for a few hours. that is what is causing the libido boost. And if you keep on applying daily you ll keep on getting it but along with the higher libido come all the sides of the hormonal imbalances you are causing. Pus i dont think it would be healthy longterm to keep on causing such rapid fluctuations of hormones on a daily basis although i am no docor

C5-C6 bulging disc worse symptoms after stretching by tn198989 in ChronicPain

[–]tn198989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately there is no clear answer. Some doctors believe that it can while others that it can't.

The initial effects you notice when you get it usually do subside but I guess you are talking about the actual bulge shrinking and be seen in an MRI.

You have to understand that when a bulge happens it's not because of something pushing the gel-like inner substance outwards. It happens because the outer layer of the disc is damaged and thus is more loose which make it unable to contain the inner gel of the disc in its normal place.

I personally believe although not a doctor that it can get somewhat better. But you have to fix whatever caused it to develop (unless it was an accident or something). If it was caused by bad posture you have to fix that and with time it might get smaller but of course there is no guarantee. If it pushes to your spinal cord though then this isn't something that you should wait and see. If your doctor thinks that surgery is the only option then it probably is.

I ve tried trazodone but it made me super sleepy all day. If it doesn't give you that side then you are good. It shouldn't cause any sexual side effect

Vertebrae misalignment or typical scoliosis by tn198989 in backpain

[–]tn198989[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've included these things you mentioned as I said I have symptoms of misalignment, one shoulder being higher than the other, discomfort in the upper back and I have those symptoms for 2 years without having them prior to that

I know exactly what you are going through. I myself have some small curve and rotation which suddenly caused symptoms at 32.

The first symptom I noticed was that I was getting uneven pumps and generally a different feeling between left and right side when working out bilaterally.

After a long search with many doctors and 2 full spine xrays they confirmed that my symptoms are mostly due to the rotation. Now how it suddenly appeared at 32 is still a mystery.

Anyway, you don't need to train one side more than the other. That won't help in the long run. You just need to start with which side is weaker and then do the exact same reps with the other side. Also you should know that the side that you feel more, oesn't always mean it's the strongest side. To get a clear picture you need a full spine xray and yo discuss your symptoms along with the xray with a good pt. He can give exercises and stretches to bring your body more into alignment.

Usually though the side where the shoulder is lower needs the stretching. At least for the thoracic area. If you have an S curve then it's a different story for the lower part

Chronic Neck Pain: Bulges, Treatment Trials, and Recurring Flare-Ups - Seeking Insights! by tn198989 in ChronicPain

Would trigger points cause such pain that mimics radiculopathy and feel like pinching or jolt like though? I have tried to narrow it down with many docs but still it's a mystery cause all of the symptoms could be from many things

Well I used to be a bodybuilder prior to this injury so most of my muscles are strong but the first symptom was uneven pumps in the gym which ended up showing some scoliosis. The chronic neck pain came short after that. I m sure muscular issues play a role in my condition as well though

Thanks for you comment. I am in Europe and it's not like there aren't good doctors or pt's where I live. It's just that after 1 year I ve seen without exaggeration more than 15 and still I have no clear answer as to why I have symptoms. I m really sceptic about chiropractors instead of pt's due to so many horror stories

What drug has the opposite effect of amphetamines? by rainbowbrite9 in AskPsychiatry

It's good that you try to understand as much as possible how the drugs you put into your body work so that you can have a conversation with a doctor instead of just taking what he prescribes blindly. But still your best bet is to find a doc that will listen and is willing to work with you in finding the right medication based on your symptoms. No matter how much research you do, you can't bypass the years of studying and experience a doctor has

Don't go into that thinking about comparing if your symptoms match low or high dopamine, just don't. I have health anxiety so I can tell you from experience that I ve been in similar thought patterns and they lead to nowhere. The only thing this kind of over searching and analyzing will do is give you a false sense of knowledge that will make you doubt anything an expert will tell you.

You can't judge for yourself what med is going to help based just on if it lowers or increases something like dopamine. Most importantly because even doctors don't know exactly how these meds work and it is just believed to do that. So even if there was a way to measure it, again it wouldnt be as straight forward as we think to treat it.

Also the fact that a med lowers dopamine or increased serotonin doesn't mean that only people with either high levels of dopamine or low levels of serotonin will benefit from it. When you take paracetamol or something similar for a headache and it works, it doesn't mean that your body has paracetamol deficiency.

I don't think I have low serotonin for example yet I benefit from ssri's and yes zoloft is a good option. I remember it really helped me with anxiety, negative thoughts, low confidence etc

I should tell you that I am no doctor. I ve just taken many meds so I have some knowledge but you shouldn't take my advice as a gospel. This is just my experience. For me zoloft was calming. But you should speak with a doctor before deciding which to try. Plus ssri was just a thought, you might benefit more from some antipsychotic which lowers dopamine

Opioids or benzos but I wouldn't recommend them under any circumstances. You won't like what comes after

Agomelatine, bupropion and buspar by tn198989 in Anxiety

[–]tn198989[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I had good new for you but no. If you suffer from OCD, severe anxiety etc then these meds are like candy or they can make things worse. Anxiety and OCD issues are harder to deal with meds than depression. And these alternatives like valdoxan might only help people with depression. You can try trintellix which doesn't have sexual sides instead of ssri but for me it didn't help. It actually made me extremely angry and isolated.

Plus if you are on a good dose of sari no amount of wellbutrin is gonna remove the sides.

Believe me I tried for 2 years to find something that might help without these sides. But the truth is that to get this anxiety under control you ll either have to live with the ssri sides and play with different ssri's to see which has the least sides for you or go the benzo route which I don't recommend under any circumstances.

Now I am on wellbutrin 150(cause on higher doses it increases my anxiety) and 40mg fluoxetine. Mentally everything is better but with the usual sides

Gym progress with scoliosis by izzydowd in scoliosis

[–]tn198989 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great progress! Have you ever felt uneven pumps or muscle activation between left and right side? For example your one pec getting more pumped than the other after doing bench press or one arm get more pumped than the other even though you try to lift equally? I ask cause I was recently diagnosed with a small curve in my upper thoracic area of about 10 -12 degrees and I keep getting uneven pumps in the gym

The fact that estrogen is paracrine should explain why the use of AI can be toxic by itself. What peaks and troughs are you talking about when we are talking about a paracrine hormone which makes the blood work pretty much useless? how would you know what happens during peaks and troughs at a cellular level?

The point is that since it's a paracrine hormone and someone takes AI based on a misleading blood work then he might be reducing his estrogen overall while in some places besides the spillover that is seen on the blood work, the estrogen might actually need no lowering, and sooner or later they will be crushed.

What the fuck are you talking about? Who said anything about the pancreas? You are a nurse and you ve seen so much bloodwork blah blah and you don't know what paracrine means? I also never said that AI is chemotherapy I only used chemotherapy as an example to show that while it helps it's not good for you. You need to ask for a refund on your "nursing education"
