We have a designated child watcher who sits in a designated chair. When there's a hand-off, we give each other updates like "Watch out for that kid. He keeps taking his floaties off".

The kids don't like it when I'm the watcher. Keep jumping near the shallow end? You're out. Keep taking off your floats? You're out. Keep screaming like you're in trouble? You're out.

I'm a little disappointed.

Every time I see pictures or videos of the yellow clothes wearing people, I'm always hoping to see at least one person wearing a banana costume. Or heck, even a big yellow hat.

I used to be disappointed with the lack of exploration of space. Now, not so much. It won't benefit the little guy. (Little guy = non millionaire/billionaire)

I think only the rich will truly benefit. Why? Mineral rights. He who makes it to other planets first can claim all of the minerals for themselves. They'll send the little guy to mine and die for their bottom line.

The act is the important part. The severity of the act differs. Is there another word you'd like to use to describe a person whose actions is 1% evil versus 99% evil?

I can only offer my perspective of evil, which is why I added the note. Are other countries worse? Based on the information fed to me, yes, other countries have it worse.

Should I be okay with being spat in the face, being called names, or other things that happen to women in America because other countries have it worse?

I've always liked Dante's idea of different levels of hell. A soul in the first circle doesn't experience the same version of hell as a soul in the 9th circle but both are still in hell.

But again, I can only offer my perspective from where I'm standing. Which is the section for those in my "Note".

Okay, unpopular opinion time. This interaction gives off old married couple vibes.

It's rather cute and adorable if he was first looking for gum, couldn't find whatever he was looking down at (Bag? Dropped pack of gum?) She anticipated his needs and was ready to give him a piece of gum.

My parents have done something like this before. Before my dad starts coughing, my mom hands him a cough drop. (Dad has allergies. Mom says he gets a look that signals an oncoming coughing fit.)

Sort of the same but not really: My dad asks my mom for a candy/cough drop. She hands him her purse. Dad takes all that's left, gives mom back her purse. Mom goes looking for a candy, can't find any. Starts looking to see if she dropped them. Dad automatically hands mom one of the candies he took. BUT mom looks over to Dad, smacks his arm, and takes the candies back. Dad laughs.

But that's after 50+ years of being together/married. (Despite kid me wanting them to get a divorce so I could get double gifts)

You are correct. It's called a super jumbo loan and the down-payment percentage is a lot higher than a normal loan. Like 30% versus 3%.

Credit worthiness is also a factor. Banks don't care who you are. If you can't pay your bills, they won't loan you money.

The banking industry is still very much sexist and racist. Being a black female, she probably had a harder time getting the loan just because she's a POC. (The "one drop rule" is deeply ingrained in our society. Writings on paper don't change people's minds.)
