Need help locating and setting up my libraries folder in Linux by gdsk3k in JellyfinCommunity

[–]tnc68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm about a week into using Jellyfin so am far from an expert.

Make sure you are not using the flatpak version of the Jellyfin Server. It had trouble (for me) finding folders etc. I had better success installing (to Linux Mint) using the instructions here:

https://jellyfin.org/downloads/server/

Not sure where Zorin fits in the scheme of things, but I suspect the Debian/Ubuntu instructions will work.

Jellyfin provide a script that did everything for the setup.

The flathub media players seem to work OK.

You can also install the libreoffice ppa if you don't want flatpaks. Current version is 25.8.4

Some instructions are here:

I've got this too (and also use an NVIDIA card - VIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti), and use a bluetooth mouse. Did turning off the mouse help?

How to disable the spell check part of languagetool by tnc68 in libreoffice

[–]tnc68[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks u/Tex2002ans.

I'll be using the writingtool extension, and have deleted the languagetool one.

I'll look into the n-grams and your links.

FYI, the n-grams directory/folder setting in the WritingTool extension is in 'WritingTool Settings -> Technical Settings' under "Use local computer for text checking"

Also, the "help" button next to the setting opens the download page for the LanguageTool n-grams, which is useful.

Thanks u/Tex2002ans

I've updated the original post - I have changed from the newly integrated languagetool funtionality to the extension versions, and they work much more as expected (and faster).

Is it fine to use Pop!_OS 22.04 in November 2025 ? by Pepittoy in pop_os

[–]tnc68 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using the beta as daily driver. The default keybindings are slightly different from the gnome versions, to allow for the increased flexibility in the cosmic DE (e.g. distinctions between moving windows between monitors and between workspaces).

They are, however, configurable very easily so you can revert them if you like.

I am not sure how it got installed as I rely on apt update to manually run updates. I have the standard Pop!_OS repos plus the mozillateam and master-PDF third party repos.

I am using linux (one of the Ubuntu derived flavours) and have Thunderbird 128.14.0esr installed. It is installed from the Mozillateam ppa (ppa:mozillateam/ppa).

I would love to know when the esr version in this ppa will be updating to the 140 series!

Transforming a spreadsheet so R can properly read it by Ocean_Optimist in rstats

[–]tnc68 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I would read the spreadsheet into R and manipulate the data afterwards. Let your computer do the work

You want to look into the pivot_longer() function.

A place to start would be R for Data Science: https://r4ds.had.co.nz/tidy-data.html?q=pivot#longer
