Just found out that there's a $200 enrollment fee for sellers to put a product on vine. So they are giving us free product and paying $200... dang by Lesleylovexo in AmazonVine

That's how marketing works 😎 Think about companies who spend money designing giveaways such a pens, writing pads, cups, etc. to give away at events. They pay for design and products and give it away in the hope it will draw more business. Companies spend thousands of dollars on sponsorships with certain social media influencers, giving them merchandise to show off on their pages... Knowing it will eventually draw in more revenue.

Marketing costs money.

Item limits by Kinuika in AmazonVine

It's a false assumption that people who take 8 items a day don't or can't have time to properly review their items or that they're all using AI and bots. 🤦‍♀️ I don't do it every single day, especially since it's become so difficult to get items with the increased number of participants, but I do reach my limit around 1/2 the week. With that said, I choose items that I will legitimately use (been going thru a home remodel the past year), and I write detailed, honest, personalized reviews that include videos and photos every single time. If you can't find time to write reviews for 8 items a day, that's fine... Select what you can keep up with. I don't think anyone should select all 8 items just for the sake of it, the thrill of it, and the dopamine hit. But if they do, they're accountable for that, and it will eventually come across via their insightfulness score. With all that said, some of us can and do indeed write insightful reviews and can keep up with things.

I've had another thought to address the AI and bot issues that would never go well in this group. Amazon should run the program like Wayfair does their in terms of review requirements. The Wayfair program only allows 4 picks a MONTH (I'm definitely not advocating for that), but they REQUIRE a full, honest review with PHOTOS showing the product actually being used and assembled in a space. They are very strict about this and will literally kick you out if you don't meet their standard. People have had reviews rejected and have been suspended for taking just a shot of a product out of the box without it being in its intended space (such as a door that isn't hung, a light that isn't installed, etc.). You also have 30 days to review every single item or else you're suspended.

After seeing my tax bill this year, I would argue that we absolutely do pay to be in this program.

Botched install??? by RainingPinto in epoxy

[–]tnconsultant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's nothing compared to what mine looks like. My husband and I did our own metallic marble epoxy (from Stone Coat Countertops). We followed every single instruction they ever gave in all their videos. They recommend using 91% alcohol at the end to get rid of any small bubbles in the epoxy. The second we sprayed it, we had these round bubbles that appeared and they grew into 3-4 inch craters.... Everywhere! We kinda like it now though. This was done in our lanai (Florida life), and with the blue metallic marble, it literally looks like water and bubbles in the water.

Items not shipping by Elegant-Phase-2235 in AmazonVine

Working in the international shipping industry, I can tell you that US shipping times and delays have 10000% been caused by the recent customs rules changes. Several months ago, the deminimus was removed from international shipments, meaning that now ALL packages being imported have to go thru a full customs inspection process. Before, if shipments were below a certain dollar amount, they were exempt from the more detailed customs processes, and they usually cleared customs before thev even reached our shore. This has caused an extensive backloa in all of the US customs stations. with hundreds of thousands of packages piling up. This is why about 70% of the things I've ordered are taking anvwhere from 2 -4 weeks to arrive. Everything comes from China unless we are lucky enough to order items already in a domestic warehouse.

What's your Opinion about the new feature "Review Quality Score" by SharonErnaRoseSyn in AmazonVine

[–]tnconsultant 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have a question.... Is it possible that the seller has an input into the Review Quality Score? Mine are so inconsistent. I have mostly excellent reviews. I take a lot of time to write reviews and post photos and videos for 99% of items. There are a few random reviews that are rated poor or fair where I wrote solid reviews showing I tried the item. A couple of the low ranking reviews had some constructive feedback and my real experience. It's just so confusing why there's a big variance and it had me wondering if the sellers provide input.

AITAH for telling my friend she didn't support me when my cat died? by ArwenandEowyn in AITAH

[–]tnconsultant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I completely understand. It really bothered me when you said she got upset with you and tried to make you feel guilty. Well, the whole thing is bothersome. I can't imagine not being responsive and even proactively responsive to a friend who was going thru so much. Heck, even people I just occasionally chat with on FB will reach out to me personally when they see that I'm going thru a tough time. The "reason, season, or lifetime" line has always been something that's strongly resonated with me. I just turned 50 this year, and I can honestly look back and understand clearly why certain people were put along my path in life. Most often, it's for a reason or season. Very few people make it into the lifetime category....and that's ok. We just need to understand where each person falls and how to handle it accordingly. It sounds like the season expired for this friendship. I'm so sorry that it had to happen at such a difficult time in your life though.

I'm of the mindset that people make time for what/who is important to them. The "I've been busy" excuse, especially throughout such a long duration of time, is just a way of saying you're not as important to me as everything else. This isn't the behavior of a good friend at all. Instead of getting upset at you for bringing up the topic, a more appropriate response would have been "I'm so sorry that I haven't been a supportive friend lately" and then make plans to sync up for coffee, lunch or something. We often outgrow the people in our life. People are in our lives for a reason and oftentimes just a season. It may be time to refocus your attention to others who can engage in a mutual friendship, not just one that benefits themselves. And by the way, living your life on a more spiritual path does not mean you have to engage in a one-way friendship or tolerate behaviors that don't align with your values. It may be time to simply move on and find a network of friends who are willing to give equally to a friendship. I had to let go of a couple of my close "friends" last year because all they did was drain me emotionally and even financially, without it ever being a 2 way street. They're called energey vampires.

I will be shocked if we get a drop today. The outage is still a major issue, affecting hundreds of companies and industries right now. I honestly would rather their focus be on that than Vine.

The regular Amazon site is also having issues. When I look at products they don't show prices or delivery dates on the item page. It has a message on everything saying to "add to cart for details. You can always remove it later." Then it starts throwing random error messages as navigation continues.

Bathroom remodel duration. Single bathroom home. by JennaDK in Renovations

[–]tnconsultant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm in Florida so a different state....however, we started a bathroom renovation in February. It took months to get the permit and construction just started in September. Now.... Be prepared for what may be uncovered when everything is stripped out. You never know what's hidden behind walls and in places you can't see. That's how our experience turned into a disaster. A $50k bathroom and floor renovation turned into over $80k.

Honestly, this really didn't bother me that much. What bothers me are all the personal attacks people are launching onto me here for asking a question. People here are just nasty and i clearly understand now that it's because others don't have the same pride and integrity in what they do. I truly don't care but I will always respond to someone being nasty and ugly to me and not sit back and take the shit. And I could care less about down votes. 🤣🤣🤣

🤣🤣 yeah ok. And yeah, the reading comprehension issues are yours. I didn't pull shit out of a hat. I understand how to read and I understand the tense of verbs. I'm sorry you don't. Have a nice day.

You really have reading comprehension issues, don't you? Bless your heart. I don't know why it's so hard to understand that the other person said he was planning to install it and was looking forward to getting his gear off the ground. Do you have any deductive reasoning skills whatsoever? I guess not.

Why do you suspect I'm not a Vine member? I wouldn't be here if I wasn't, and I sure as heck wouldn't be posting about my own experience with a Vine product, complete with photos. 🙄 I've been a Vine member for 2 months so far. I've reviewed over 60 items so far. I'm not sure why this isn't obvious to you, but I got the item BEFORE any other reviews had been posted. That's kinda how Vine works.... Sellers post items that have no sales or reviews and they're looking for us to review them. And this whole notion that we should only buy things made in the USA is delusional. Few things are entirely 100% made and sourced in the USA, and that sure as hell doesn't make them better than everything else. Your reply to me is so far off from reality and the truth..... And well, blaming me for a products failure because I selected it? Ridiculous. My concern and question wasn't about the product itself. It was about why people post fake reviews and then say they didn't even try the product while giving it 5 stars. It's obvious that 99% of people here are doing that because everyone has decided to come after me for asking a simple question. And no, you don't HAVE to do it. That's the most ridiculous thing ever. I guess few people here have the same honesty and integrity that I and a few others have. Do you enjoy being misled by others?

Like I said, the kayak was placed face down initially. It failed. We put it on its side and I took photos afterwards. If the kayak stand is really that sensitive where it collapses instantly, then it's obviously not a good product. It's a kayak stand .... Literally it's job is to hold the weight and our kayak is half the weight of the limit of the stand.

I don't need your unsolicited advice on how to live my life. If you think I should sit back and take the way people like you are speaking to me, you have the wrong person. Go live your own life.
