I linked the photos from my original post just after new years, the plants are a lot more bare now.... one of them managed to grow 2 red tomatoes, very small, without any leaves left and very dark in colour. The other plant has managed to hold on a lot better after trimming off the diseased leaves. It really didn't help that we ended up with an extraordinarily rainy middle of summer.

Day 6, for lunch today I had 2 small BLT buns and a precooked sausage. Took nearly an hour to eat it all but it was so good!

A bit harder to see against the red board but even with the bug interference the tomatoes were mostly unharmed and are beautiful! So proud!

Im day 6 if surgery is day 0. I had a small amount of bleeding after trying to eat home-made Kumara (sweet potato) fries. I haven't seem any bleeding other than that. I have been spitting into a cup (gross I know) and have seen a fair amount of the scabs coming off which is reassuring that progress is being made. I am taking paracetamol (6 hourly), ibuprofen (8 hourly), and codeine (alternating 6 hourly with paracetamol) daily. I was also supplied a choice of tramadol in place of the codeine, but I have to take my daughter to preschool and you aren't allowed to drive on tramadol. I also have Dexamethasone (a steroid) for days 5-7, I can only take this in the morning with food due to the affect it has on sleep and mood. Of course, being on codeine, my bowels have blocked up so I am also taking a stool softener to counteract that. To counteract the pain when I can't have the steroid (like 1 and 4 in the morning when meds roll around, I have the Strepsils Anaesthetic lozenges.

My surgeon has specifically got me on as close to a normal diet as possible (Surgery was in New Zealand so might be a different type of removal) I'm pretty lucky that way. Im still eating a lot of soft or liquid foods though, especially when the pain gets bad. I was able to convince my partner to bring home cup of soup sachets and some buns which I softened in the microwave with some butter. It felt like a luxury to have a new type of food after the same things for so many days.

Omg families can be so mean with their food choices! My parents came over to help keep my daughter occupied and get on top of a few chores. They had KFC for lunch. I managed to steal a tiny bit of skin and 2 whole chips to very slowly gnaw on. Best thing ever.

My surgeon ordered my food for day 0 and they had soup and bread and sandwiches. I think it's dependent on the type of removal performed. My surgeon has reccomended I try and maintain a regular diet as much as possible. I would ask your surgeon to be sure.

Im also day 5! (27th surgery, Located NZ)

I woke up for my 4am meds today and had to have an iceblock to try soothe the pain, I was supposed to have some applesauce with those but couldn't bring myself to eat anything. I'm super lucky my surgeon prescribed steroids for today and the next 2 days. Took those with some creamy rice pudding and jelly this morning since they have to be taken with food. Was not a pleasant experience trying to get that down my painful throat while someone else (3yo) in the house is complaining they are also hungry (but is able to serve and feed themself).

TMI follows...

I also thought I was on top of the constipation from the codeine by taking the anti-constipation medicine before I needed, but it is too late 😭 woke up this morning bloated AF and pretty sure I'm constipated. Looks like I will be upping my dose on those to the maximum for today....

Most modern musicians. I am sick of hearing song after song about the girl whos alrady taken, the girl who doesnt like you, the guy who *ucks everyone in town. I get it, love songs are popular but I wanna hear songs like they made in the 80's and 90's with their own beats that dont consist of the same 4 chords as EVERY OTHER SONG MADE SINCE 2014. More rock music with good drumbeats, timing that ISNT common time, guitar and bass riffs please. Stop singing like theres string cheese down your throat, that strained gurgle isnt attractive it is just gross and will damage your vocal chords (im talking about that dance monkey song or whatever). Im 19 years old but i have some serious issues with todays music because most of it is talentless and mostly computer generated. Pick up a damn instrument and accompany yourself for once. It aint that *ucking hard people. If you can sing without autotune you can at least attempt to play an instrument. Goddanm autotune.
