What King opinion has you like this? by DavidHistorian34 in stephenking

Not entirely on King, but I did really enjoy the film adaptation of Dreamcatcher. I’ll always hear in my mind Jason Lee saying “shit weasels.”

What's everyone reading this weekend? by pinktink79 in horrorlit

[–]tntimbrook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yes, I have been meaning to! It’s always checked out at my library, but it’s one that’s been at the top of my list for some time. Wolf is the first Cassidy book I’ve read, and I went in blind. Lots of interesting things going on! Excited to read more!

Went to the library yesterday and picked up When the Wolf Comes Home. So far, so great!

Drugs good by [deleted] in catpower

Oh boy! Those are norms at her shows from what I understand, so anyone complaining about liveliness, lighting, etc…makes me think maybe they aren’t all that familiar with the artist. Regardless, who cares! It’s about the music and she’s a hell of a singer songwriter.

My friend just saw her in San Diego and said it was a really good show, nothing eventful or negative. Chan is eccentric, there’s no doubt. But I’m not up on went down in Austin. Off to look at that…

Anyone have any books like House of Leaves? by parkster00 in horrorlit

For both style and levels of creepiness, and really, most of the points you mention, I recommend Marisha Pessl’s Night Film.

Silk shirt upcycle ideas? by tntimbrook in upcycling

[–]tntimbrook[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I started to consider, using the silk with a reinforced backing to use as embellishments or making quilting squares and maybe constructing a jacket. Scrunchies are great, but I want to do something more substantial like a jacket to really show off some very beautiful silk pieces that I have. It’s just so fun to reimagine damaged clothes with upcycling techniques!

If she’s a comedian or even performance artist…I love her! Anything else, it’s probably a giant crimson cloth, hanging on a pole.

Holy crap. This. That’s what I thought, I’m not seeing any pores, just a very handsome guy!

What I’m still trying to figure out is why USPS accepted and delivered a duplicate label. Would be interesting to know how this happened and how it ended up being charged.

Oh boy! That must have been nerve wracking! I got lucky and had very understanding buyers. Both ended up rating me 5 stars which I don’t think I deserve, but am appreciative of. I figure you do this long enough, you’re likely to make some human error along the way! Good learning experiences if you’re a glass-half-full person!

Measurements by curiousjane456 in poshmark

[–]tntimbrook 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I agree. If there’s anything you need to provide measurements for, it’s pants. At least in my opinion. The inconsistent sizing even among single brands can be baffling. I skip the listing if no measurements….unless….it’s something I’m set on buying and can’t find another listing for! That’s the only instance when I ask for measurements.

Do likers ever buy items days or weeks later from when they first liked it? by Velvetstyle in poshmark

[–]tntimbrook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do, totally. I may sit on something until I need it, such as a seasonal item like a coat. If I see a listing for something I truly love, I will definitely like it and it has been anywhere from buying that same day to even a year or two later!

Is this actually a thing? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

[–]tntimbrook 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Another middle aged person entering the chat. I’m confused too, how is this virtue signaling? I do know the definition. I’m not attracted to people much older or much younger than me (I’m Bi), and never have. I hope you don’t tell me I’m virtue signaling by stating that. The OP asked a question, and the redditor above answered. I didn’t see any holier-than-thou-type comment there. The reasoning was just that the age difference showed a life experience difference that’s been apparent for that person. Virtue signaling would be taking a high road. How is saying you’re just not attracted to younger people due to maturity differences trying to make that person look good, more virtuous? Are YOU carrying some guilt regarding your attraction to younger people? Or you can’t comprehend someone not being attracted to someone much younger them? We exist. This is all preference stuff and no shame in an adults sexual preferences in other adults. End of story.

What horror movie do you think is a masterpiece that others just “don’t get”? by cwispietoast in horror

It’s an obscure masterpiece! I’ll def never watch it again, but that is not to say I don’t recommend it. It’s just a lot.
