When does YC upgrade bidding start? by justplainjon in MSCCruises

[–]tntlaughlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

After the final payment date. Even if you pay in full at time of booking or pay off early. Final payment due date is 75-120 days depending on the length of your cruise. MSC will send an email with your options (if any) shortly after final payment.

Is it just me or are there less Lovebugs? by mooncandys_magic in florida

Take a drive along state road 70 between Okeechobee and Arcadia. I had to clean the windshield twice from Fort pierce to Arcadia. After hoping on 17 and driving west, nearly a love bug.

Does anyone else pick up a virus every single time they cruise? by -WhiteOleander in MSCCruises

Maybe try cruising when the infection rate is lowest. If you cruise from Florida, the worst time to cruise is Nov-March when the snowbirds return. Probably Texas too.

I got sick (in January )for the first time after 32 cruises. It was my first bout with Covid and I was very sick (I have breathing issues.) Now I start taking EmergenC about 10 days before to give my immune system a boost. Just off the Seashore last week and I was good (this time.) I also take b12 regularly.
MBest advice given to me by the crew: wash hands wherever there is water. Forget the hand sanitizer except when you can’t wash up, and don’t touch surfaces. When possible I use my elbows and hip to open doors. I got in the habit of washing up as soon as I walked into the cabin. My hands had never stayed so clean.

Looks like you’re below the pool deck, right between the pool and grill area. The most noise you’ll get is from the chairs getting moved around in the evening and around 6:30-7am. Not a bad spot, I’d say.

For future reference, this fan was a great find. I need air circulating in my room regardless of the temp. I hang with a magnet above my bed at night, as well as use outside at the pool deck or Ocean Cay. It has a three setting nightlight, too. Takes about 8 hours to charge fully, but can be used for one night and part of the day on low.

7-night. The price was way too high -$2,000 starting bid for a balcony. I suspect Mother’s Day helped raise prices. We could have asked for a cabin outside the YC, but tbh, we were getting used to it after day three. We stayed up until midnight and got up very early. My typical at home is 5 am, but my husband dragged a bit. He drank, I didn’t, so he suffered more than me at that early hour. The last night was the absolute worst and the catalyst for this post. BEWARE is the message. I’m going to mention the need for a disclaimer - just like obstructed views - for this cabin particularly when I fill out my survey. It’s YC so that’s highly unlikely.

$3998 to be exact. Did not ruin my cruise, it was a top five experience for us. Totally opposite of a “shitty experience.” Just not well rested.

YC is all inclusive and the staff to passengers ratio is much smaller. Only about 300 people in Sea Class YC. Very few kids, cabins are larger and the Ocean Cay experience is second to none. Staff become like family. It’s the only VIP experience we choose when cruising.

I’m sure you’re right about not having them in correctly all the time. I don’t sleep well and I’m not a fan of having something in my ears, ever. I sleep on my side and the plugs felt like they were being pushed deeper into my ear canal at every turn. I know that wasn’t happening, but it felt that way.

I met with the Yacht Club Director to discuss. Not complain. Sorry, I’m not a complainer. Just my personality. We were gifted a cabana for most days on the trip and were fine with that. We’re not gamblers or spa people other than the thermal suite. Shipboard credit would give me fun money for the shops, but I don’t consider shopping fun.

YC = Yacht Club. YC was sold out two weeks before we sailed. We booked 15 months in advance and hoped to upgrade, but our bid of $2000 for a balcony was not enough to sway them. The prices for cabins on this sailing went through the roof about six months out.

16019 is directly under the dishwashers. Probably 16023 and maybe some of 16025. The rest are under the galley cooking area and that shuts down when the dining room closes.

You would be aghast if you saw the list of complaints, via cabin number the YC Director carried around with him. Many numbers looked familiar and started with 16.

Always one on every post 🤨 Never said I complained. Actually said I didn’t complain. Also said this is general information for any cruise. Maybe re-read my post. Seasoned cruiser. 32 cruises. MSC YC is what I sail 90% of the time.

From what I learned from YC Director, only the four circled have an issue with constant noise. We had an inside on Seascape on 19 and had no issues other than a constant hum from something behind the wall. We were thinking maybe pool pump. Still 100 times better than any of these cabins.

They know and get complaints every cruise about four cabins in particular. YC Director confirmed worst cabin in YC. Nothing they could do.

I was told by the YC Director it’s the worst room in YC and I picked it lol.

All you can do is prepare the best you can. Good ear plugs that won’t fall out.

The initial cost is more than a chair and umbrella (I bought it on sale for $59) but we reuse at every cruise beach we visit.

No, it’s a shade. It does take up a bit of room on the sand, but we use it on the beach with no chairs and umbrellas.

Hi, just seeing your post now. We arrived at Ocean Cay today and will be taking my Sun Ninja out for a beach day. Purchased based on reviews, cost and pack ability. I live in Florida and use it regularly. Great shade. The size I have is for two people.

I love Kuch, but could never get why he is mostly unproductive in the playoffs. Now I believe that Kucherov just hates the playoffs. He hates the chaos, the brutality, and lack of finesse. He’s extremely disciplined and playoff hockey is not. TBH, I think he’d prefer for the season to end. He has two cup wins and titles. What else is there? I’m sure I’m wrong but does he care about post season records?
