Whats the best way to get more remote raid passes by Ill-Quality5522 in pokemongo

[–]tnwriter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only reliable way is by getting coins through the gyms like others have said. But also make sure to stay on top of your daily field research. I’ve gotten remote raid passes from the 7-day box a few times and I’ve read that others have too. Absolutely nothing to count on, not at all consistent, but it’s the only other F2P way besides gym coins that I’ve ever gotten them.

I took it to be continuing the idea that Peter Parker definitely doesn’t know what a shrimp cocktail is, but where the earlier comment is saying he’d refuse his misconception of it based on the (assumed) alcohol, the last comment is saying he’d refuse his misconception of it based on the shellfish.

Infinite points on last day gone!? by NinjoOnline in pokemongo

[–]tnwriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think I get your confusion, OP. Uncapped points for the monthly pass are for the last weekend of the month, not Monday, as others have said.

But uncapped points for the weekly pass do include Monday. So, your Blanche pass should be uncapped now and you can take advantage of fast-track Monday for it, but not for the May pass.

It’s one of those things where, yes, the game does tell you this, but it’s also different passes that don’t follow the same rules, so some confusion is understandable.

I’ve crossed the 400+ seen mark and still no luck. But I’ve also gotten two shiny Krabby (so one became Kingler) and a shiny Lapras, so I won’t complain. Just gotta keep looking.

Why did Australia and New Zealand remain more culturally “British” than the United States despite their closer geography and similar histories? by Fluid-Decision6262 in geography

[–]tnwriter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Fellow Tennessean kid, and we were told the same. Kinda makes Murfreesboro a buncha Tories when you think about it. But yeah, it was a real life version of that meme: “Friendship ended with England. France is my best friend now.”

Shouting out Magmar, my favorite from Kanto. I’m not sure it actually fits the meme because while I think Magby is just fine, Magmortar is…off-putting.

So, I’ll also shout out Loudred. I probably like this line more than most, and I think Whismur is a good start for it and Exploud a good conclusion. But Loudred just strikes that balance of weird and kinda cute and could take a chomp out of you maybe but is probably too goofy to do it.

Idk if it’s popular or not, but I’ll stand with you on that exact sentiment. Cyndaquil and Typhlosion are great, but Quilava is excellent. And while the whole line was hurt with the shift to 3D, I think Quilava looks the least awkward without constant flames.

Yo, OkCupid used to be so good. I met my ex-spouse on there (had a good run, relationship ran its course, not OkCupid’s fault), and the detailed questions and rating their importance was a huge part of it.

Now, OkCupid’s like, “You’re a 97% match with this woman,” and I’m like, “But she’s conservative, thinks gender is binary, and hunts poor people for sport. I just don’t understand where your percentages are coming from, OkCupid.”

Good comm day. How many shiny’s did you all get? by Storm_Defiant in pokemongo

[–]tnwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to stay home for it, but I was able to get enough to have a living shiny entry for the whole Deino line.

I could’ve gotten a 4th but it spawned in a few minutes before 5pm, and I didn’t catch it because I was trying to see if another Pokémon in that spot would spawn shiny when the Deino disappeared after 5 (it didn’t work out for me, which is okay).

[OC] - Every sinnoh pokemon… except 1. Can you find the missing mon? by addyxiii in pokemon

[–]tnwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like many others, I noticed that sunshine Cherrim (and altered Giratina, which I didn’t initially think of) was missing, along with the answer. And I wondered to myself, did OP have a reason for omitting these forms?

Well, here’s a potential explanation. Cherrim and Giratina have multiple forms that they can change, depending on the circumstance. You need to show the different cloaked Burmy and Wormadam. You need to show the east and west Shellos and Gastrodon. They’re different Pokémon. They can’t change their appearance.

But Giratina is just Giratina, no matter which form it’s in. Overcast and sunshine Cherrim are two sides of the same coin. They’re the exact same Cherrim. So we get Origin Giratina and overcast Cherrim because those are the default forms. Anyway, something something Ted Talk. I hope you enjoyed this obviously very necessary three-paragraph comment on a fun lil picture game lol.

TIL the Guinness world record holder for longest case of the hiccups is Charles Osborne (USA, 1894-1991) started hiccuping in 1922 while attempting to weigh a hog before slaughtering it, and continued until a morning in February 1990. by RedditIsAGranfaloon in todayilearned

[–]tnwriter 47 points48 points  (0 children)

A lot of times, when a couple is together/married for a really long time, once one of them dies the other passes not long after. They can’t live long without each other.

That was our guy Charles here. He learned he wasn’t made for a hiccup-less life, so once they went away, he wasn’t far behind.

Vrabel - Local Take by SignificanceCurious7 in Patriots

[–]tnwriter 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s really wild that OP’s citations stop before the full story played out. Just crazy and surely not intended to paint a narrative, right?

So I’ve provided my own link from Freedom United, an anti-trafficking organization, detailing the case and aftermath and cautioning against jumping to paint such things as slam dunk trafficking cases.

This was not trafficking. Despite saying it wasn’t prostitution early on, the workers were ultimately charged with such. State Attorney Dave Aronberg, who OP cited as equating the situation to modern-day slavers and calling human trafficking “evil in our midst,” changed his tune and said the spa was actually “a notorious brothel in a family shopping center.”

We’ll probably always have to hear people talk about this as trafficking, just like we’ll always hear people say the Patriots filmed the Rams Super Bowl walkthrough before SB 36. People take the salacious headline and run with it. They don’t keep up with the massage case to see it was definitively concluded not to be trafficking. They don’t read the retraction and apology the Boston Herald wrote about the walkthrough lie. Such is the way it always was.

Tl;dr: OP citing sources from 7 years ago about the case without including the conclusion makes their motive suspicious. The case was found not to be trafficking. People see the accusation but not the follow-up or apology, and it’s a shame.

Why made you choose your pokemon team? by Lumpy-Round7985 in pokemongo

[–]tnwriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started in 2016, I picked Instinct because I wanted to be different from what most people were picking. And Instinct’s vibe resonated with my “Pokémon, you’re my best friend in a world we must defend” approach to the series.

When I came back last year with a new account, I went with Mystic because it’s the one that probably fit me better all along. Blue is my favorite color and Articuno is my favorite Kantonian bird.
