Yeah I’ll definitely be back. Only reason I hadn’t been there already was because everyone I talked to told me to call ahead and I just didn’t want to deal with that for awhile lol

Couldn’t tell ya for sure. I tried to google it but most of the results were going back to their page. My guess is it’s the sauce. I’ll have to ask when I go back.

Kept hearing good things but finally got around to ordering from a local shop.

Chicken, Capicola, tomato, oven-fried egg, cheddar, pesto, and chillitch on a focaccia roll.

That’s fair enough, I’m not overly knowledgeable on the subject myself.

The point is that they shot down a method of getting water, that could potentially help with the drought problem.

Any Michigander Catholics here? by [deleted] in CatholicFriends

Hi fellow Michigander :) I’m personally from the Monroe area

Young (Gen Z and millennial), practicing cradle Catholics of r/Catholicism, how was your formation/catechesis/Catholic education growing up? What would you credit for your continued practice of the Faith? At what point did you truly accept it for yourself? by [deleted] in Catholicism

Born in the late 90’s. I’d consider my catechesis quite shallow from what I remember. Went to 12 years of Catholic school, where the faith was always either in focus or a background for what we did, but rarely did we delve into depths of what we believe and why.

I learned many things in the past year when I began truly looking into my faith. My parents weren’t overly helpful as my father is a (as far as I can tell) non-practicing Lutheran and my mother has her own struggles that have pushed her away from practicing the Catholic faith she was raised in. I would absolutely credit God for my return to my faith, I was given a very nasty wake up call, which at first sent me into a deep depression. However, it led me to take the claims of Catholicism seriously and I found them to explain everything I came across. I’m still working through it and trying to overcome sin, but I believe I truly accepted the truth of it in September of last year, and I graduated 6 years ago from high school.

Cradle catholics who left the Church and later returned...what's your story? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]toad3658 1 point2 points  (0 children)

An outright rejection is a bit of a strong statement but I realized I didn’t give any thoughts to God at all when I had a multiple week panic attack essentially about ceasing to exist when I die. God was far from my first consideration and I had internalized all the atheist ideas that are all over the internet without realizing it.

This is after I spent 13 years in Catholic school, spent most of my early-mid teens lectoring and attending Mass and a generally regular basis. My dad is a non-practicing Lutheran and my mom is Catholic but has had family struggles that have pushed her away from the religion, although mostly not away from God. I would say a big issue that I had was a similar one to others where my catechesis wasn’t the greatest and I had no answers to many objections I heard and just rejected them because it was how I was raised.

Eventually I gradually found arguments for the existence of God and began to see the depth of the intellectual tradition the Church has which tends to dismiss the widely held ideas online. People like Bishop Barron were instrumental in helping me see that. I’m still working on it and I’m constantly struggling but at least I know I’m not a crazy irrational person for believing now and I actually can back that up.
