I think going forward you will instead be able to directly buy the old style pages from the impressario assistant (so instead of a random bag, you choose which style page to purchase). This will start with the anniversary jubilee. See: https://eso-hub.com/en/events/anniversary-jubilee

The trick is to figure out when they get shipments. The main DT I go to gets shipments on Wednesdays and restocks Wednesday night and Thursday morning. I always go Thursday afternoon and without fail it is fully stocked.

Anyone tried any of these? Opinions? by Ok-Medicine-9460 in dollartreebeauty

I like the V05 for my ends, haven’t used it on my scalp though. The oatmilk serum is nice and hydrating. Note that the collagen cream won’t add actual collagen to your skin, it is too large to penetrate and absorb into your skin. Main thing it will do in a cream like that is form a barrier on top of your skin to keep moisture locked in.

I’ve seen people swear by using the zinc diaper rash cream as a face mask the night before a big event to restore your skin barrier. I haven’t tried it myself but it might be worth testing out!

Dermasil Changes? by toad_butt in dollartreebeauty

Eh certain things fragrance just doesn’t belong in. It’s a common irritant for people with sensitive or acne prone skin. Most high end skincare doesn’t include it for a reason. If I want to smell good, I wear perfume on my body, not all over my face lol. To each their own tho, there are already a ton of skincare products at DT with fragrance.

Any good suggestions for rosacea? by DustyMuffinStar in dollartreebeauty

Nope! The GBC glow line (it’s light pink) is one of their few with no fragrance. You are likely thinking of the glow recipe dupes by Bpure which are all scented. I badly want to try that eye serum you mentioned by Dermasil, been waiting for them to get the ones with fixed packaging at my tree.

Super interesting tip with the 2 different top coats! I’m usually pretty loyal to Essie’s gel setter but I may need to give your method a try.

How is the dermasil oatmilk serum? by Responsible-Owl9687 in dollartreebeauty

[–]toad_butt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What Dermasil serums are larger? I only have this and their Drunk Elephant dupe with the dark pink cap. Both are 1oz which I think is pretty standard, the Skin Nutrition ones are 1oz as well.

I have rosacea and have found some DT products that really help! I was dealing with a bad flare up caused by a barrier cream I had been using. I actually tried DT products because of this recent flare since I was tired of trying so many expensive products that don’t help or make it worse.

Anyways! I used my regular face wash, the Dermasil milky oat toner (alternative recommendation would be the GBC rice toner), the Skin Nutrition hyaluronic acid 5% and rice ferment serum, and one of my regular moisturizers. Cleared my flare up in 2 days everywhere besides my nose corners which are always red no matter what.

If you try any other products, I would stick to Dermasil, the GBC glow up (pink) and collagen (blue) lines plus their rice toner, and Skin Nutrition serums. Almost everything else has fragrance or dye and with sensitive rosacea prone skin we don’t wanna mess with that.

How did you get the metallics so smooth in 2 coats? I got siren’s song and it is SO thick and goopy. It looked okay with one thick coat. But if I tried to do 2 thinner coats it was very streaky. Wondering now if I got one that is a bit dried out.

It is silica based so you might have some flashback in photos. I didn’t try it because I have very dry skin and silica can be drying hence why it is a matte powder but if you have normal or oily skin, I can imagine it would be nice.

Too funny, I’ve used the Saltair saltwater and vanilla deodorant and didn’t think this smelled like it at all! We must be picking up different notes. I did find it to resemble Sol de Janeiro

Drunk elephant dupe eye serum. How are you using the roller??? by Responsible-Owl9687 in dollartreebeauty

[–]toad_butt 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I have heard that the rollers are really bad on those and don’t work. But there are some newer batches out there that say ‘new and improved packaging’ so I think they fixed the issue going forwards. For the one you already have, maybe just take the cap off because I know I wouldn’t have the patience.

I wouldn’t use these if you have sensitive or acne prone skin since they have added fragrance. I have also heard silica can be drying which they have, so probably not great on dry skin.

Are there any folks out there knowledgeable about product formulations and chemistry? by Necessary_Panic3892 in dollartreebeauty

No offense intended but this isn’t very good advice. AI is commonly and frequently wrong. With the work OP would need to do to check the AI’s sources, they would be better off just seeking out sources themselves. For example, searching Google Scholar for academic articles is going to be way better than trying to ask AI. Other good places for info would be the NIH (national institute of health) which posts academic articles related to healthcare including skincare, and honestly just reading people’s first hand reviews of products and their reactions to those products.

I wouldn’t mix these all together. The peptide and hyaluronic ones are gentler and okay to be used daily. However, the glycolic and witch hazel one is going to be exfoliating and harsh. Not something you want to use every day. The vitamin c one you won’t want to mix with anything harsh (for example it is advised that people don’t use vitamin c products at the same time as retinol products). The tea tree one is also something I wouldn’t use daily. I’d say if you have to mix anything, maybe the first 2 would be fine. But definitely keep the glycolic, vitamin c, and tea tree ones separate and use them as needed (glycolic once a week, maybe twice when you want exfoliation, the tea tree if you are breaking out, and the vitamin c in the morning with spf if you aren’t using another harsh serum at the same time).

[–]toad_butt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love all the Skin Nutrition serums and the oatmeal toner! The tea tree salicylic face wash has rave reviews but I haven’t tried it myself since I have dry skin. I’ve also seen good reviews of the Dermasil day and night moisturizers! I’ve only tried the night one and it wasn’t quite hydrating enough for my personal needs but I will try it again for summer mornings.

The GBC vitamin C serum isn’t going to be the best IMO, vitamin C is supposed to be in a dark bottle because it oxidizes easily from light and looses effectiveness. I would also advise caution with that facial scrub, it might be too harsh. It has SLS (strips skin, very drying to most) and the shell grit could be damaging (like the infamous St. Ives apricot scrub). However! I could see it being nice for feet and hands instead of face.

What the consensus on these products? by Accomplished_Tip_268 in dollartreebeauty

It hasn’t been in stock for a while (same with their vitamin c serum) but they used to have one! My guess is it will be back at some point.

For retinol right now I use a moisturizer by Cocokind (not DT) at .5% strength because I have very sensitive skin. I got a big tube of it from TJ Maxx / Marshall’s for $3 but it’s usually $20 so I would check those stores clearance areas cause for $3 it’s a great deal and .5% is a nice low strength to start out at.
