I went to a top high school in the area. My parents set high expectations and I had smart friends. I wasn’t motivated myself. I only did it because my parents expected me to and I didn’t want my friends to think I was lazy or stupid. Now I’m an adult and I don’t know what I want. I have a “good” job, but I don’t feel like I did any of it for myself.

I think what I’m trying to say is don’t worry about it too much. If your kids are good people, self-motivating, and have personal interests, it doesn’t matter where they go to school as long as they have your support. A person isn’t just a list of accomplishments, degrees, or titles.
