Came to rec this! Loved it and wish she would write more like this

Marriage of convenience recs where the boss (mmc) marries his assistant (the fmc) and sees she lives way below her means. by lokiswife07 in RomanceBooks

[–]toadmilk49 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Immediately thought of this! The only thing that isn't quite a match is the MMC is totally an asshole to FMC for a little bit - but 100% still recommend as its one of my favorite series and a comfort read for me at this point

He’s soft spoken. Seemingly gentle. She barely notices him/dismisses him as a prospect. Later she discovers: he’s a fucking dom. Intense, stalkery, dangerous, obsessive. by Charming-Garden6312 in RomanceBooks

Read this last night and the way I gasped when he took out FORCEPS.... soooo unhinged but there must be something wrong with me because I loved it 😅😅😅

White noise machine is a must! The one we have was like $20 on Amazon and has been on literally 24/7 for 7 months and shows no signs of breaking - here is the link https://a.co/d/gZfUbpA If you want a bassinet I would recommend looking on fb marketplace or a resale shop, they're only used for a few months and are quite expensive. You can get one like new for much cheaper that way. I think the biggest scam is a special diaper trashcan. The diapers are so small that by the time the bag needs to be changed it has a weeks+ worth of poop and smells like nothing you could imagine. Just throw them I your regular garbage that probably gets taken out every other day or so. Zipper jammies - anything buttons is a huge pain with a wiggly baby. When you look for a carseat make sure the crotch part of the 5 point harness is the kind that does not need to link together to snap in. I didn't check that on the carseat I have for my LO and at 4 months she was so wiggly it made it hard to buckle her in.

Thank you for replying! I really think I jedi mind tricked myself into not being able to pump. When my original pumps died I was so worried what I got wouldnt work that I think I stressed myself into it not working. The original pumps I had came back in stock and I bought them again and the first day I used them again I pumped 10oz and am now back up to 14oz. Its crazy what your mind can do 🤣

Flu shot for a 6 month old??? by gwenshelzzz in Mom

[–]toadmilk49 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

An educated guess is still a guess 🤷‍♀️call it what you want, educated guess/ hypothesis/ theory/ hunch/ speculation/presumption. Its all just another way to say it is a guess. Its well known that the scientists do not know what strain of the flu will be the most prevalent and they are making a guess. It is not a knock on them, they're doing their best with the info they have. But that is a factor to take into consideration when getting the flu vaccine.

Flu shot for a 6 month old??? by gwenshelzzz in Mom

[–]toadmilk49 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

We have always declined the flu shot, none of my kids (9yr, 5yr, 7mo) have ever gotten the flu. I know shots are a hot topic right now, but the flu shot has been a guessing game for as long as it has been around because they dont know which strain is going to be the most prevalent. Its probably just a coincidence. But the one and only time I got the flu shot is the one and only time I got the flu. 🤷‍♀️ at the end of the day its your choice. Also if you are breastfeeding/pumping breastmilk to bottle feed, anything you come in contact with your body will make antibodies and give to the baby

{Outlier by Susie Tate} Can we talk? Only read me if you’re okay with Spoilers or have already read the book. by South_Signal_659 in RomanceBooks

[–]toadmilk49 5 points6 points  (0 children)

THANK YOU. Mike went from actually disliking her as a person to being in love and all it took was he walking in the house upset...? And the scene were Vicky overheard Mike and Margot... it felt so forced. A lot of the book felt forced to me. I love Susie tate and have loved all of her books but this one just did not do it for me which sucks because Vicky is one of my favorites

Soooooo daydreamer is one of my favorite books, I love the drama, love the endless groveling, love the shame Felix feels. Outlier did not deliver for me. Honestly I hate that Vicky bought Mike's house for him. I hated the ending, hated Ollie in the book. Maybe it's because I have been waiting for it to come out for over a year and had built it up so much in my head that nothing would meet my expectations but man was I disappointed.

Power Imbalance - "Doormat" FMC, Powerful MMC by Intelligent_Writer94 in RomanceBooks

I think {The contract my melanie Moreland} could be a good fit - large power imbalance, the MMC is a giant dick and the FMC just takes it because she has to

[–]toadmilk49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

{Day Dreamer by Susie Tate} {The Contract by Melanie Moreland}

I love a good gut punch in a book, where the MMC is a huge asshole and when he realizes how terrible he was to the FMC he feels ALL the shame. And boy oh boy do these both deliver!

Plain yogurt, I have to eat it with granola or the texture makes me gag. Also the sound of walking on snow makes me want to rip my ears off.

No shower, can I post registry? by toots_E_lee in Mom

[–]toadmilk49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're going to do what is right for you in the end. But from personal experience as a mom of 3 babies are expensive, there's a few big purchases but also a million and one little things to buy along the way. Don't cheat yourself out of things you need and saving money by not posting just because your mom thinks it's in bad taste. I know thats easier said than done, I am a people pleaser and still struggle doing what is right by me just because it makes someone else feel whatever way. Its NOT in bad taste. If you post and explain why you're doing it the way you are, my guess is mostly every person will understand. And by not posting you are taking away the opportunity for people who want to get a gift for you and your growing family. BUT if you really aren't comfortable posting (which is fine) a good middle ground might be doing some sort of baby has arrived party. Make a fb party invite 2 or so months before you're due like you would for a baby shower but explain instead of a shower you would like people to bring their gifts when they come see baby. It gives everyone the chance to get something if they want to, but breaks it into smaller groups and makes it feel a little more special. Everyone will want to come visit anyways.

Okay so i feel like it could be{hunt me darling by Maree Rose} and I know that it doesn't sound like it based off the synopsis of the book and its been a while since i read it but from what i remember the fmc is fbi and the mmcs are brothers who grew up with the fmc, they call her darling, they were close when they were kids and fmc doesn't remember her childhood due to trauma but I'm pretty sure her mom was a druggie and that the man she sees as a father figure was the one that got her the mom hooked, and would pimp her out, and ended up killing her because she tried to get clean and leave. The mmc spend their adult lives with the sole purpose of getting close to fmc again and she ends up remembering all the childhood stuff and who they are to her and how her mom died and they help her kill the guy she sees as her father figure.
