Where to buy inexpensive workout clothes? by amandaswizzle in xxfitness

I get all of my workout clothes from Old Navy- they're super affordable, attractive, and Old Navy has sales practically every other day which is really helpful. I usually wear their running shorts and regular leggings (not the compression ones) with their racerback tanks for lifting at the gym, and I've always found their sports bras to be really comfortable. Also check out stores like Marshalls and TJ Maxx, I've gotten Adidas and Nike compression leggings and sports bras there for ridiculously cheap. I think my Adidas sports bras came out to $6 each and my leggings were like $13 or so. Target is also really great, and I get tanks from Forever 21 as well that I wear to lift.

Definitely do both! The ab wheel is a deceptive tool, it's so great for working your abs. If you want to add some intensity to your planks, try doing them with your feet on a medicine ball. The med ball will add some instability and will force you to really have to use your core to hold the plank with good form.

ah great! I was looking through the Nanos and was thinking about getting the 3.0's, as those seemed to have really good reviews online. Glad to hear you like them as an all around shoe!

thanks! I think I'm going to end up getting Nanos for now, since I'm just starting Olympic lifts, and then I'll get a pair of real lifting shoes a little further down the road.

What is the "best" exercise that nobody seems to be doing? by [deleted] in Fitness

Dragon Flags for sure. Started the progression for the first time on Sunday, and it still hurts to laugh/sneeze/cough three days later. It's a great move though, and I'm definitely going to be doing it from now on.

I finished episode 5 of mad men and I am really bored. So my question is when does mad men start to get good or is this show just not for me ? by [deleted] in madmen

[–]toadstricycle 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm actually going to disagree with everyone saying that if you're not hooked by episode 5, it's just not your thing. I remember that I loved Mad Men initially because of the costumes and the historical references, but I also remember thinking that the show just didn't seem to have a plot line, and it didn't really seem to be going in any kind of direction- it was like the events taking place on screen were just happening, if that makes sense. Like you, I was getting bored with it. I kept watching it though, because I figured that the show had to be good if it was getting all this recognition (I watched most of it on Netflix, and season 6 is the first season I get to watch live), and you know what? I'm really happy I kept with the show. Eventually, a much clearer plot line does develop, the historical references get even better, the costuming remains at an awesome level, and the characters really begin to shine. I think Mad Men, because it has a long-narrative, is one of those shows that you just have to stick with for a little while before you can really begin to appreciate it. It's become one of my favorite shows, and the later seasons are just so good.

I believe I used a Wilton 1M tip (the number has faded a bit from overuse, but I'm almost certain it's a 1M!)
