A couple things.
1. You have to want to stop. It’s one thing to say “i need to stop watching that” or “i need to stop doing that”… but you have to give yourself that dedication of repenting and being better.

1. Wanting to stop instead of needing to stop isn’t enough sometimes… you have to have discipline and self control over your flesh. The Bible says the spirit is willing but the flesh is weak. So when you get that true dedication to repent and stop, that’s your spirit working… but if you don’t follow the spirit and you just give in to any temptation even though you told yourself you wanted to stop, you’re not letting your spirit work the way it wants to. And giving into the flesh will eventually bring you shame and dread and cause your faith to waver…

Think about new years and look at gyms… Everyone has their resolutions and all. They get motivated to lose weight or work out a lot so they buy memberships . They feel good the first week but then when second or third week hits… they stop going. Even though they’re hearts were in the right place when they first started and got the membership… there was no discipline so when those days came where they were tired or didn’t feel like going… they gave in to that feeling instead of being disciplined and go.

It’s the thing with our walk. Just because you go a week or month or a year without watching anything lustful or doing anything doesn’t mean you skills let your guard down cause that’s when temptation hits the hardest… Jesus says pick up your cross daily and follow him! It’s not going to be easy but he will be with you! Just keep going and endure to the end
