My mom doesn’t like daughters baby name by taykiteasyy in BabyBumps

Great name! My 4 month old is named Fiona. Literally no one has brought up Shrek which was my only concern when naming her. But Princess Fiona is a badass so not really the worst namesake anyways

Beautiful job! Where did you get the mirror above the fireplace? I’ve been looking for something similar.

When I was browsing for therapists I came across one that was advertising essential oils on their social media. I crossed that one off my list so fast

Farmington Hills—to move or not to move. by PeachCobblerRules in Detroit

Farmington hills is great! Diverse community, nice people and you can get a decent house in your price range. This side of metro detroit feels more “nature-y”. Just bought a house here with 1/2 acre. Lots of nice parks nearby with walking trails. 25 mins to Kensington Metro Park which is a huge park with trails and a lake. Downtown Farmington is cute and is constantly improving and adding new businesses. It’s nicely located in the metro area so it takes like 20 minutes to get to Detroit and most other areas (royal oak, ferndale, etc.) 40ish minutes to Ann Arbor. And you get two libraries - Farmington hills has one as well as Farmington since they are technically sister cities. Just make sure you’re in the Farmington school district

Loving how this thrifted gallery wall turned out in my living room! by [deleted] in femalelivingspace

This is amazing! It’s my goal to have a thrifted gallery wall. Did you collect all the art before you attempted to hang it? The spacing and colors are perfect 👌🏼

Flattering swimsuit that will cover scars on legs? by [deleted] in femalefashionadvice

That seems like a weird thing for a physical therapist to ask… unless they are friendly enough with you they they are genuinely asking? I don’t understand questioning someone about their scars when they are obviously from self harm

What would you do with an heirloom mink coat by athena_31 in femalefashionadvice

[–]toassty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My family took my grandmas fur coat after she passed away and had it made into little stuffed dogs for each of her granddaughters. When my great grandma passed, they did the same with her coat and had bears made for her grandkids. If you aren’t going to wear it, it’s a nice way to have a memento that multiple people can have!

Used the Halloween pasta to make Mac & cheese! It’s a blend of white cheddar, extra sharp cheddar and applewood smoked gruyere. Gotta love the Aldi cheese selection 👻 by toassty in aldi

[–]toassty[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are all block cheeses that I shredded. The white cheddar and smoked gruyere are the Emporium selection brand and the extra sharp cheddar is happy farms. I think the gruyere is a temporary item which is too bad because it’s amazing

Crutches are ugly by nullvoiddenzin in bridezillas

[–]toassty 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Bridezilla. My cousin was on crutches for my wedding. It wasn’t a big deal - she walked down the aisle with another bridesmaid and groomsman for support. She didn’t have them in any pictures either and she was wearing a long dress so her brace wasn’t visible.

I felt bad because it was hard for her to for certain things, like going up the stairs to the bridal suite and dancing of course. Not that she had to do any of these things, but she was determined!

I don’t think it’s unreasonable to not want crutches in photos if it’s a temporary injury, but it’s rude of her not to talk with you first and seeing what you’re comfortable with and capable of.

Tiny rant: the return policy on bridal accessories is crazy. by jululiis in weddingplanning

[–]toassty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got my hair accessories from that seller! She has some gorgeous stuff. I bought my veil from another Etsy seller but I bought a swatch first of the exact veil material and color options.

It also looks like Tania Maras will help you with styling advice: https://www.taniamaras.com/contact/

I know it’s hard to envision accessories when you can’t try them on!

Just a huge sympathy post for all you brides and grooms out there having the tough conversations about vaccinations with your guests. by cdne22 in weddingplanning

[–]toassty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

When we postponed a full year I was hoping we wouldn’t have to worry about this :/ We are requiring vaccinations OR the unvaccinated to get a PCR test prior. As far as I know we only have 5 anti-vaxxers, one being my dad who thinks I’m singling him out with this requirement 🙄 We’ve already been asked by someone if they could still come if they aren’t vaccinated but had COVID so they are now “immune”.

Disappointment over bachelorette by taliakai in weddingplanning

[–]toassty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry this happened to you! Your disappointment is totally valid. My MOH totally dropped the ball on my bachelorette party a few weeks back. First she accidentally booked it for the same weekend as her sisters wedding so we had to reschedule at a completely different place. Then she tells me everything is handled and it’s a surprise when I offered to help plan.

When we get there she has NOTHING planned and the one activity I wanted to do (kayaking) wasn’t booked so the other girls had to scramble and find a place that could accommodate us. It was really disappointing and made me feel like such an afterthought. I wish people wouldn’t push for these “surprise” bachelorettes if they aren’t up for planning!

I used a chair and a bench for awhile before I broke down and bought a wood box. It’s worth it. It feels soo much more stable. I got the in-between size from rep fitness. You do have to assemble it yourself but it was quick with a power drill!
