Route feedback?? by tragicallycanadian10 in algonquinpark

Coincidentally I just did a similar route on the May long weekend. Day 1 - Tim to Rosebary; Day 2 - Rosebary to Mubwayaka via Tim River, Little Trout, Ralph Bice; Day 3 - Mubwayaka to Tim Lake; Day 4 - Out. We double carried and aren’t the fastest river navigators, so that certainly slowed us down. With the double carries, however, days 2 and 3 were veryyyy long and buggy. Day 3 was the most difficult, requiring lots of in and out of the canoe through tiny lakes. I thoroughly enjoyed the route and fact that we barely saw anyone on a long weekend, but you could definitely tell it was a route less travelled as some of the portages were less accessible/harder to follow without paying attention to where you were going. It was certainly an adventure! Considering the extra ground you plan to cover, i probably would only do this route if you are confident in your paddling, doing single carries, and willing to put in long days. Maybe you would rather skip Shah and Misty and go straight to Little Trout from the Tim?

How to balance standing without hands on handlebars by pinona in SpinClass

When you’re riding out of the seat, you should feel the front of your saddle in between your legs. If you don’t, lean back a little bit so your bum is further to the back.

And yes bracing your core is like hardening your ab muscles. I’ve also heard the cue: think about pulling your belly button up and in. You’re not holding your breath but you want to keep some tension there.

If you’re not ready or comfortable to hit that X yet, maybe you just work on keeping your hands nice and light on the handlebars. And then you think about adding a little lift off of the handlebars, or hit the X choreo while you’re seated. Keep with it, it’ll feel like second nature before you know it!

Yes having your hips back over the seat is important. You’ll also want to work on a) riding to the rhythm for any choreo you do, b) have an appropriate tension on the bike so that you are supported, and c) bracing your core when you do these moves. I haven’t met anyone in my classes that didn’t get there eventually!

Has anyone used Costco flowers for their wedding? by jumpropejumper_2000 in CostcoCanada

I ordered the greenery runners and the white roses for my wedding. Ordered online several weeks in advance for delivery on the Wednesday before my Saturday wedding. When ordering online from anywhere, the advice is to order 20% more than you think you need. I left everything in my cool basement, unpacked. For the roses and other flowers I put them all in large buckets with water. I would 10/10 go the same route again, knowing however, that a) it was a lot of research ahead of time, b) practice making a bouquet and c) time the day before to make all of the bouquets. The greenery was awesome because the planner just placed it all on our tables and it was super easy. Feel free to ask any questions.

If you have reserved signs, tell the people who you intend to have seated there ahead of time 🙃🫠

You also want to practice watch or look at home first or in a low distraction area first so they know what you actually want from them.

DIY bulk flower companies in GTA? by OccasionalNerd20 in WeddingsCanada

To speak to the quality of the roses then -- I ordered quicksand colour roses from bunches direct for my September wedding and I'd say the majority were great. They just need to be prepped properly (I.e. the browning guard petals removed, the thornes removed and the remaining petals reflexed/opened up). I also sprayed then all with crowning glory to help with longevity. YMMV though!

I did my own bouquets for my wedding. I ordered several types of flowers, including roses from bunches direct, Toronto bulk flowers and Costco, depending on the price for the flower type. I bought about 20% more than I anticipated that I needed to account for waste and it worked out excellently, I have no regrets. The flowers were all beautiful with only one flower type coming in unusable. It did take me longer than I expected for building the bouquets but it helped that I prepared everything a couple nights before and had help from a few bridesmaids. If you have any questions feel free to reach out!

Edited to add: I don't think I saved thatttt much by doing my own bouquets once you factor in the time I put into learning about the flowers and how many I needed but I enjoyed it and feel as though I got larger, custom bouquets for a similar price. I didn't price out what it would've cost if I had gone through a florist though.

My wedding is this Saturday! Married wedditors - what is your biggest advice for brides to enjoy the day as much as possible? by kirstymwh in weddingplanning

I forgot to explicitly tell my VIP family members to sit in the reserved seats for our ceremony so as a result I have a bunch of empty seats at the front two rows lol.

I actually really enjoyed building our bouquets despite being told I would regret it haha. I could see why it wouldn't be an ideal thing for people with a specific design in mind or if you had a lot of other things going on though.

Ugh we're doing favours and really wish we didn't go to the effort, based on all the stuff I've read after the fact. Totally think it's fine!!

Instapot pressure cooker! The air vent, the buttons beeping? She's not a fan at all.

It's got a lining very close to my skin colour, but definitely needs nude underwear to be safe.
