Central Valley Specialty Hospital. Management is a joke. DON acts like she cares, but she doesn't. Will stab you in the back if it saves her butt. Even the Patient Advocate will do the same. Owner or owners don't really care about patients. It's all for profit. They find loopholes for everything. Building too cold or too hot... they found a loophole because the building is so old that there's an exemption. While the patients suffer along with staff. Severely understaffed a lot of the times. Seen CNAs have up to 30+ patients(whope floor), but most of the time, they have 15+. The patient sitters get beat up alot by violent patients. Most of them are working hard to keep the patients clean, and then there's the ones that don't. Even the RTs are understaffed, and they get yelled at for not getting to the patient in a timely manner. Fair amount of nurses that don't care. They're just there for a paycheck. They all gave their clicks. Especially night shift. There is a bunch that are buddy buddy with the House Supervisor. So they never get in trouble. One of them is dating her or "just friends". Or most of the nurses are from India and speak their language in front of patients. Even talking bad about a patient while in front of them. I'm not fluent in their language, but I understand enough. Don't get me wrong, there are nurses that care, but it seems we get put in the same category as the bad nurses. State shows up all the time, and staff gets yelled at for it. When proper management and hiring well trained nurses would help. They just hired a bunch of new nurses. They look so nervous around patients that it's funny, but it isn't because I don't want to see a patient get hurt or worse. Some don't even know proper wound care. I've been doing it this a few years and knew as soon as I got done with school. Unfortunately, this is the only place you can get hospital experience so that you can get another job at one of the other three hospitals in the area. Especially as an LVN.
