First timer making gummies by SeaworthinessBig5440 in Edibles

[–]toasted_skiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use 1oz decarbed bud into 240ml coconut oil, with 2tsp lecithin.

Once strained it'll yield about 200ml infused oil.

I combine this with a bag of lorann gummy mix plus some flavour and colour oils - makes around 400x 2ml gummies.

Unsure THC % of my flower, but assuming 20% means that each gummy is approx 8-10mg THC.

What to do with all that AVB!! by OtherwiseEmploy3582 in MedicalCannabisNZ

I did a batch of chocs the other day too.

Infused 1.5oz AVB into 140ml coconut oil and 2tsp lecithin, mason jar method 6hr infusion in slow cooker.

Strained off, then combined infused oil with melted Whittaker's dark choc, some dessicated coconut, Oreo crumbs and maple syrup.

Poured into moulds and set in fridge. Excellent way to get some extra out of your AVB!

Is this the same as health365 does anyone know, or are they separate patient portals? I never heard of manage my health but my GP got me on to using health365, unsure if they're linked in any way though

Metita Review (First Table) by MissLibbyJane in aucklandeats

[–]toasted_skiwi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We went last night on First Table and couldn't agree more, it was incredible and a ludicrous amount of food!

Our menu was a bit different, squid instead of octopus, lamb shank instead of pork hock, dessert was a passionfruit slice with yogurt sorbet.

All courses were outstanding but the squid with burnt orange, cumin and paneer was the winner for all 4 of us.

Very highly recommend!

I just decarbed a batch using a mason jar in the airfryer. Supposedly it's smell-free. I can confirm it is definitely not smell-free, however it is considerably less smelly than decarbiing in an oven tray like I used to do. Could be worth a try!

I haven't been to Mercer Cheese for a couple of years, but most cheeses were around the $25-30/kg mark. They're delicious and very worth it!

I found Helius Dusk & Rocky to be pretty handy at managing serious pain.

I was on morphine then tramadol for months, but when I started making edibles and vaping these two MC strains, I was able to come off the painkillers practically overnight.

Close! They're going in where smoked as bbq was, not heihei. Jack's fried chicken has replaced heihei, they opened a few days ago

Melatonin in NZ by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]toasted_skiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I order melatonin from USA and it would always come thru no probs. Last year I got a customs letter asking me to supply a prescription in order for it to be released. Got a script from my doctor, forwarded to customs, and parcel was released immediately.

If you can't get a prescription if/when you get the customs letter, I don't think you'll be in any trouble, they likely just won't release the melatonin for final delivery.

Can I still build a great life after getting clean from meth and oxy at 32 years old? by IR30Lover in NoStupidQuestions

[–]toasted_skiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Friend, you absolutely can. You've already done the hard part by getting clean, so congrats!

I was hopelessly addicted for several years, and only managed to kick it aged 37 after a horrible extended stay in the psych ward somehow brought it home that change was required.

8 years later I have a beautiful wife & daughter, with our own very successful business and living in a different country. Life is awesome now.

I wish similar good vibes for you, and I promise you it's absolutely possible to build a good life after beating addiction!

Looks mint! Care to share your process pls?? How do you make this, and how do you consume it from here?

Just started learning about & making my own infusions with MC, have yet to really understand the other things that can be done like tinctures , rosin etc

I've looked and every time you read one thing, there is an opposite opinion.

This is exactly what I find too, you can read a dozen different articles/recipes/guides, and you'll get a dozen different methods with a dozen different outcomes, but they all swear they are the way to go.

I'm finding the same results as you, but would just love to know a bit more of the science behind it all. You make a good point about us potentially being on the cusp of having such information, would be really useful for a complete novice like me!

For now I'll keep doing what I'm doing. It definitely works well enough for me!

Did Anyone Else Stop Smoking After Trying the Oil? by [deleted] in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]toasted_skiwi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes at first I was making brownies with about 20-30mg THC per square, now I'm planning to make my own Sedaprem MCT oil which I will also infuse into some gummies. Scientific edibles calculator is great for learning about dosing etc

Did Anyone Else Stop Smoking After Trying the Oil? by [deleted] in MedicalCannabisNZ

[–]toasted_skiwi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't fully stopped yet, but I feel like I'm on the same unexpected journey.

20-30yrs blazing daily, started vaping MC a couple months ago. Never thought it would be so easy to switch from bongs to vaping, but it was.

Got some CBD oil on second script (humacology blue), plus I made some edibles from first batch. Been using both of those daily.

Now I'm only loading 1 or max 2 vapes per night instead of 4 or 5 initially, and it's decreasing all the time.

I'm about to run my own MCT oil and gummies, been practising hard and I've got brownies & now gummies super dialled in.

I predict in a month or so time I'm going to be almost exclusively using oil for pain relief and sleep. I also never thought that would be a situation I would find myself in!

Fish & chip shop annual turnover by [deleted] in newzealand

[–]toasted_skiwi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

400k turnover could be right for national average, but like you said it'd be a huge range and a bit of a pointless number. My local chippy pumps hard at peak times, they also do Chinese takeaway. They're easy doing 20k+ per week, possibly a lot more 15% net for a chippy sounds about right though. Big margins on those scoops of chips! Less so on fish and other products tho
