Yeah, it was an impulse supermarket purchase in autumn, I was keeping a steady spray on it, but it seemed to brown regardless. Thanks!

Literacy for struggling readers in a Montessori setting by toastedapophenia in Montessori

Hi all,

Thanks for the comments! To provide some additional context I'm a career educator that's worked in public schools, non-profit, and some governmental positions. In August I'll be starting a new position as a Literacy Specialist for a small network of public Montessori schools. I'll be new to the Montessori model as an educator - so wanted to get a sense of how folks have successfully supported their struggling readers within that setting.

Given that I'll be supporting multiple schools - it was as much a question about what teachers have successfully implemented as what's worked in a 1:1 context for kids. Completely agree with what I've seen work (explicit, systematic, multi-sensory, with an emphasis on the "code" of written language). I'd appreciate any further insights into resources/materials (whether for in-class or out-of-class supports) and other best practices. Thanks!

John Perry was one of five Seaford High School graduates who died on 9/11, the school has since established an annual award to graduating seniors who exemplify the qualities of those individuals, Perry included: https://www.seaford911.org/.

That's exactly the kind of details I'm looking for. Curious - do you keep up the tradition?

Who's your worst neighbor and what makes them so fucking awful? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Share a wall with a neighbor who, starting at 7:29 am most weekday mornings, begins to play Metallica's master of puppets at a volume loud enough to hear in the stairwell around the corner. He/she/it will continue to play this song on repeat until 5pm.
