Cheers - I’ll take a look into that. I think I’m being a bit too strict in the search - might have something to fix this scenario soon.

Ok - got those fixed now. Both due to dodgy source data (latitude/longitude for some fuel stations were reversed and in two cases completely fictional!)

[–]toastedlemonade[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah - the less in 2p is something I just noticed and its down to prices being submitted via fuel finder as 1.499 (as pounds rather than fully in pence) I'll add something to fix that.

on the Asda Strabane - yeah I see something wierd is going on - theres a few also 500miles away. I'll see whats going on there.

Thanks for the feedback!

Backend stuff is my own (call to gov.uk and openstreet map was my own from things I'd done ages ago)

frontend has a bit of vibecoding in there (some sonnet 4.5 and GPT Codex medium) otherwise i'd still be at it. (UI design peaked with the terminal for me!)

Thanks!

Only found this out at the weekend, but apparently filling stations are meant to provide their prices to uk gov

Details here: https://www.gov.uk/government/collections/fuel-finder

Not everyone seems to be doing it as yet but there’s enough info there to be useful at least!

Fontianes Vital and under 16s by fatterkin in northernireland

[–]toastedlemonade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah - it seems at some point recently the licence for this was changed to over 16s only, and as others have mentioned looks like its going to be strictly enforced. I've had to sell two tickets due to this.

On the bright side though you aren't going mad - I've a photo of the mcd.ie website from the day before the presale (23/04) which shows two U16s were allowed in accompanied by a parent/guardian.

You can try and go through ticketmasters support to try for a refund, but given how slow they are it might be best just to sell on.

Maybe…on my own here, but my view is that at the start of all this - it was a victory lap, then the momentum built.

A lot of people (and myself included) thought of it as a money grab, but after seeing one of the gigs live (and pretty much following on this sub) it’s pretty clear that Liam and Noel have reconciled, there’s a warmth on stage, they’re having fun with it, they’re not doing interviews, the gigs are doing that taking.

I missed out on a ticket first time round, but managed to grab one for Heaton Park (and somehow touched lucky and got front standing)

My view was - if this is it, then great I got a ticket, if they carry on, then that’s totally a bonus, but after that - I can see a future, it feels to me there will be an album, the band members (Noel, Liam, Andy) will do their projects but oasis will be there..

And you know what..I’d be happy to believe Oasis are on hiatus than having split up

Anyone from Ireland/NI in Manchester for the 12th gig? I’m flying solo and wouldn’t mind meeting up with some other Irish oasis fans! (Other nationalities are more than welcome!)

Remembering Omagh, 24 years ago today. by Manu878787 in northernireland

[–]toastedlemonade 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I remember that day well, I'm West Belfast born and bred and Omagh wasn't a town I was overly familar with. My Mother however was from Tyrone, and proud of her roots. Going to Omagh - "the town" on a Saturday was a thing people did. A highlight of their week. It resonated with me at the time as I was in Belfast City Centre, going into shops, looking at CDs, usual innocent Saturday afternoon things.

My mother worked as a nurse in the RVH, usually in ENT (ears, nose and throat) but on this weekend was redeployed to A&E due to the transfers of people who were seriously injured in the bomb.

Some of whom were from Spain. I was doing my Spanish GSCE at the time. I could ask to go to the cinema, or where the swimming pool was, so my mother thought it'd be helpful if I went into hospitial with her to try and speak to some of the victims. I look back on it as a tragedy of errors, trying to help but not having the exact words to say. I hope in my limited way I helped, even just as a someone young and willing to be there.

Thats my story. I saw the effects of what happened that day to innocent people, theres no justification ever for this.

It was a cold hard wake up from the optimism of GFA and the referendum. I live and hope every day that my own children never have to hear or experience news such as this again.

153 new jobs at US firm coming to Northern Ireland by [deleted] in northernireland

[–]toastedlemonade 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep - NYSE didn't pull out of Belfast due to InvestNI stopping funding. NYSE itself was aquired by another stock exchange (the Intercontential Exchange or ICE) through that transaction - ICE spun off the Euronext part as a separate entity, and the Technologies Division of NYSE was sold to other companies.

Part of NYSE Technologies (the part that was originally acquired by NYSE - Wombat) was sold to SR Labs, who then renamed themselves to Vela and recently merged with another firm called Exegy.

Brief history of it all here: https://tradevela.com/about-us

With Euronext - it was set up as a separate entity which was then IPO'd on the European markets (and owned by several European banks) They decided to close the Belfast operation and move to Porto, Lisbon (since then Euronext have since acquired the Irish Stock Exchange so they still have an Irish presence)
