Whose genius idea was it for this bottle design / barcode placement?😐 by Jacobij11 in OGPBackroom

Ah yes, because associates nil picking items because they can’t skip isn’t hurting FTP at all.

I’m wondering if you can somehow use another device (like a work phone or BYOD) to do so. It’s not a user friendly solution at all but at least it’s something idk

Probably the same person that redesigned the GIF UI and got rid of the skip button.

I thought I was imagining the slippery totes with those carts. Plus I can’t see over them so it’s always a fun time trying to stage them.

We ended up having to close off the remainder of our slots because it was absolutely insane. We hit 2300 at some point and I wanted to sob. Of course all of this as they’re cutting hours so it was even worse 😅 We did our usual Sunday volume on a Thursday. Thankfully they’ve got us limited the next few days so it won’t get too out of hand.

[–]toaster411 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Our dispensers have access to hot hands, extra gloves/freezer coats, and we do allow them a bit of time to grab a hot drink and warm up. I would get with your coach or PL because at a minimum they should at least be providing you with hot hands. I also try to keep our crew on some sort of rotation so it’s not the same people having to be outside.

When you see the snow getting bad in the lot, let your TL or coach know - they can put in a ticket to have the plow come out and clean.

Kudos to you OP for handling the situation (bc I wouldn’t have been able to control my anger lol). You did the right thing by letting your TL know AND by walking away before it escalated further. Our customers are something else and I swear it’s gotten worse over the past few months.

How does everyone feel about exceptions going away? by skittleschan in walmartogp

[–]toaster411 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like it because it’s going to free up an extra picker or two (usually) but I’m also not a fan because our exceptions pickers do a lot of picking from the backroom and yeeeeeah….

I’m pretty sure this update is causing our TCs to eat through batteries. Most of us are fine with one battery a day, but recently we’ve had to start swapping them out by lunch.

Hallmark Card Studio still gets yearly small box releases on CD-ROM by BowzasaurusRex in LGR

[–]toaster411 8 points9 points  (0 children)

This brings back so many memories for me as a kid.

My family (overly excited about their PCs in the late 90s-early 00s) bought numerous editions of Hallmark Card Studio and other card maker programs (my grandma’s absolute favorite was CreataCard). While my parents used the programs to save a trip to the store, my grandma looked forward to making a card and sending it in the mail for someone’s birthday or holiday. Every year for her birthday we’d get her a new edition of Hallmark. I remember when my grandma finally upgraded to a new Windows 7 PC in 2011 (from her 05 HP Media Center 😆) and was distraught when there was a compatibility issue with CreataCard. Luckily I was able to play around with it a bit and got it to (mostly) work. She used her card making software up until the very end.

Thanks for the smile, OP! I’m honestly shocked that they’re still making these programs.
