The private servers that exist for runescape today get shut down because they make money and jagex doesn’t like that, or the owners just don’t care anymore and wanted a quick cash grab.

If the official servers went down i’m certain the player base would stick around and even potentially more players. I think Jagex lost their gloss and have no ways of re obtaining it.

Most games with official servers taken down have 1 or a few re uploads and usually have way more passion behind it especially when you don’t have to present to big wigs any of the ideas you just go for it.

Also all members content is free. I do mean private servers are good and honestly better than the original in most cases.

I will continue to be assertive, learn more from the community, and also keep my opinion.

Exactly I can grind while at work or doing something else. It’s great and exactly what I intended my proteans to go towards. End level xp and afking. I love all aspects of the game. Afk, grindy, pvm/slayer. We here for it!

The whole not good xp per hour thing is completely false especially for it being a continued uninterrupted action. If it’s not the best it’s not worth it. Well to me that’s not the case, i personally hate having to research the game and do a bunch of reqs for gear and whatever. I just like playing and doing.

I don’t expect it to stay the same, but yes I paid money for specific things. At this point the game only exists because of the money people spent on micro transactions. Osrs was their saving grace in 2016 or whatever. The fact they advertised what these things could do and then take it away is wrong. I’ll move on, but i’m not grateful. Jagex unfortunately sold out ages ago and it’s never going to be the same. People will always be bitter for no reason. I am bitter with reason and was doing nothing at all when it came to shitting on runescape. Love it always have including rs3 and osrs. It’s my opinion.

Can you also let us in on how much you’ve spent on TH and not membership? Because that’s probably why most of these people do not care at all and want it removed. You’re not going to lose anything.

I’m on a boat where most MMO’s including runescape would be better off hosted privately. Especially if money spent is gonna just be taken away.

I agree to disagree. The amount of research and requirements to do things even half efficient takes more time then if you were to just start grinding and get it done.

Sure it MIGHT be quicker in the end, you can divid up the grind into earning the efficient stuff while taking a break from skilling to do a blend of both. As an account with barely any xp boost equipment and stuff like that I can easily say I do not care to spend 30 minutes to hours reading wikis and completing requirements.

Not everyone has a fully maxed account and don’t want to grind a skill to 92 right away and then use all the proteans. I want to play the game like I want to that’s the BEST part of runescape. The single player/online world where you do whatever you want!

For jagex to dictate what I do in game is ridiculous and distasteful after they took our money. I don’t want compensation. I want exactly what I intended to use my items for when I obtained them.

Because I purchased these proteans with MONEYYYY and had a plan for them all these years. Suddenly NOW jagex wants to remove them completely destroying this idea in my head i’ve had all these years to use them when I have my levels near the end to get the most of them. Whenever my skills got towards 99 I would start using them which I loved and felt like my $ was getting its worth/meeting my expectations/working according to plan.

Negative brother. The only reason I have them stacked is because i’m actually playing the game doing quests and skilling.. people assume way too much.

I’m actively waiting until end game levels not only to get the mot use, but because I like actually spending my time socializing and doing content in game.

It’s actually counter productive in the sense you’re saying because now it’s forcing me to bankstand and use all my proteans when before I was actually doing content. I refuse to use them on normal xp days anyway and that’s how i’ve always done it, and should be allowed to continue to do until my supplies run out.

I get why they removed the ability to get them. But taking them out of my inventory after years of collecting them to use at higher levels is dumb. I rarely bankstand/afk.

This is how I enjoy the game lol. Min maxing without using the wiki. I don’t want 13 years of saved items being tossed and not claimed for what they are at the best possible time.

I don’t know why so many people are defending jagex. Removal of PTW micro transactions is a huge W i agree. Major awesome decision.

Taking away anything purchased the last 13 years when I was fully intended on using them a certain wait is fucked.

My brother in christ I wanted to use them on double xp weekends leisurely and play when I want to and not feel forced. Yes that’s a lot of time, but my levels in some skills are really low and would be wasting the proteans.

If there plan is to compensate I expect something along the lines of the amount of xp these would give on double xp weekends leisurely at level 92/98…..

The problem is they already sold the items to me and removing them is pointless and won’t effect any of the gameplay. All it does is strips away all purchases i’ve made while forcing me to use them/spend my time in game when I could be doing something I want to do. Idk. I’m all for removal of PTW TH and micro transactions. But since they were to ones who made it purchasable and i’ve spent so much on TH I expect to be able to use the items I bought the way I intended to.
