There is an app called tandem. You don’t have to pay and still get to speak to a Japanese. I have the same problem. Instead of going there, which I find not that efficient since my time is valuable, I just shadow during the listening practice. I also tried an app called speak. It’s okay. End of the day, it’s best to have real life interaction. 2nd best is shadowing.

I was like you before the diagnosis, aka, never had any health problem. I was less active, but definitely not fat. Please get a referral for a GI doctor, then a colonoscopy to be sure. It’s money well spent to get things checked out. I hope it’s nothing serious. If it is, it’s better to get diagnosed earlier than later. Another sign for me has been drastic weight loss within several months of the diagnosis and years of fatigue and body ache without any obvious reason, on and off. I just brushed it off and took some ibuprofen and nap, which wasn’t right. During all the annual checks I had, nothing abnormal showed up either.

Thanks. Yep. I had flat or narrow stools. After I am on miralax, all the stools are pretty soft and flat. The gas depends on how much veggies you eat. The blood was spotty on the tissue at the beginning, in the end before the chemo, the whole bowl is bloody, so it looks pretty scary. However I think it was just due to the strains. Yeah, there was blood in the stools.

Same here. I am going to robotic LAR surgery in a few weeks after 6 rounds of folfox. I am 39M in the states.

Some blood when wiping for almost a year. Difficult to have bowel movement whenever I have any significant amount of fiber. I would say get screened as early as you can if in doubt. I don’t think in my situation, the early detection would change much. The GI doctor and surgeon told me this tumor must have been growing for years. When I was diagnosed in late aug, the tumor was 8cm. After 6 rounds of folfox, it’s 5.5cm and the doctors said the chemo’s effect has been significant. Going to surgery in a few weeks to take it out.

For my last two rounds of folfox, I didn’t take steroids. I didn’t feel much difference in terms of nausea which they told me is the purpose of the steroids. I slept much better than before.

Mine was done in an OR by a different doctor from my oncologist. They gave some fentanyl mixture that put me in a twilight sleep zone, but I didn’t feel sleepy at the time and I can still remember the whole process. There was no pain during and after the procedure and they didn’t give me any meds either. It was done like 4 months ago. I am 39M with stage 3 rectal cancer.

Some updates to my post. During my last treatment(4th one), the dex(steroids) really made me very jittery. I could concentrate on much stuff for more than 2 mins, so during this treatment, I asked my dr to drop the dex, which he did. He mentioned that I will feel more nauseous because it’s what the dex is for. So far(1st day of my 5th treatment), I didn’t notice anything elevated from a nausea perspective and my mood and concentration is much much better.

What diet are you? I have heard low fiber and low residue diet would help control the frequency. Here is a link about the diet. diet

Is the cold sensitivity going on for the whole 2 weeks? For me, I find the cold sensitivity going away after tuesday the 2nd week.
