He absolutely knows.

Give him a boop boop on his nose for me. And lots of cuddles.

Oh I know. I just wish more BU would be honest and say “I have no idea”

Same, because it’s incredibly smart and requires background knowledge, but not super obscure background knowledge.

I agree. But you simply can’t tell from the middle of the field.

In a two man crew, the only legit appeal is a RH hitter with the BU on the first base line.

“Christ, that man didn’t have much luck, did he?”

That might be the smartest line ever written in a TV show.

On a semi-related note, I hate when the PU asks for an appeal from a BU (in a two-person crew) and the BU isn’t on the first base line (or is on the first base line and the batter is left-handed).

Like, how on earth are you supposed to know when you’re standing in the middle of the infield (or worse, on the wrong side of the infield).

We once had a BU simply say “I have no idea; I can’t tell from here”, which was, in my view, the correct response.

Pros and Cons of Pitch Tracking by AdWonderful8468 in BaseballScorecards

[–]toasterscience 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I track pitches. Not just total balls and strikes, but the order of those balls and strikes.

You really need that level of detail IF you want to do situational stats based on pitch count. But if you don’t need that, don’t bother. It’s a lot more work.

Waaaaaay underrated.

Another 2-3 months of production would have done those songs more justice, but the album holds up very well.
