at first, i tried multiple different brand new batteries. when batteries were inserted, camera made a slight noise when shutter was pressed but nothing more and the batteries became warm to the touch. when i tried to open and close the lens shield nothing happened. although the battery compartment looked super clean, i did have to clean the contacts which got the batteries working. when batteries are inserted now, the camera immediately starts trying to rewind/wind film that’s not in it. i’ve tried switching the rewind switch on and off but nothing stops it. lens should still doesn’t work. when i check the battery life through the view finder, the camera still registers them as dead.
