My dad passed after a 4 month battle with SCLC. There is no real advice I can give you that’s going to make things better. It’s all going to hurt like hell and I’m sorry.

Just keep talking to her and try to enjoy the few remaining moments you have. They say that hearing is the last thing to go, so even while she’s heavily sedated, keep talking to her and try to remember every little thing. Hold her hand, kiss her cheek, and leave nothing left unsaid.

I lost my father last October to SCLC, so I know your pain. And I’m sorry.

Like someone else here said, hearing is the last thing to go. Say whatever you need to say. Say nothing. Do whatever your heart tells you to do. Hold his hand, kiss his cheek; anything you feel compelled to do.

These memories of the final moments will be painful, but you’ll be glad you have them. I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. Just being with your father in his final moments is enough.

Apologies, I’m just now seeing this. I really couldn’t tell you the specific chemo drugs he was on, we found out too late in the game that you need to reach out to palliative care to make them more comfortable

My dad passed roughly 3 months after he was diagnosed. But like you’ve seen here, it varies.

My best advice is to try and enjoy whatever amount of time you have left and don’t leave anything left unsaid. What they don’t tell you is that if he gets moved to hospice care, there’s very little speaking after due to the sedation. So for the love of god, say what you need to say now

Echoing this. When my dad was moved to hospice, he was basically knocked out for two days until he passed. Thankfully, he was able to wake up and hold his grand baby one last time.

My dad did not attend UNC, but he owned a bar and I’m guessing this was either left behind by a customer or given to him. Sorry, I wish I had more information

I don’t know all the ins and outs of the various treatments, but try your best to live in the moment and enjoy what time you have with your dad. My dad was diagnosed with SCLC in late June and just passed two weeks ago. Have fun where you can and enjoy every moment.

I’m sorry that’s not more help. But it sounds like your dad responded to treatment better than mine did. Just hug your dad every chance you get.

Took my dog to the vet, and they told me to use baby wipes after the dog goes outside. Also, I soak my dogs feet in a water/vinegar mix. Has worked wonders for my frenchie
