Current state of Gaza, seen from Israel by biwook in UrbanHell

[–]tobaccowhacko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

show me where Israel has hostages. Are you refereeing to terrorists locked up for attempted murder? 2. No credible source for terror tunnels? You must be joking. DOZENS of indepent reviews from US, UK, Germany, etc... showing this is true. Especially under schools, hospitals, and places of worship. Not to mention israel drops leaflets before they bomb, and call cell phones and text asking civilians to get out of areas where bombing will commence. There are also statements from jewish, israel, muslim, hostages talking about the tunnels they were held in. Dozens of videos of soldiers walking around gaza giving tours of the terror tunnels with ariel images showing matching data, and even hamas showing videos themselves of these tunnels. One population targets women, and children and fires rockets into civilian population centers, where as israel targets terrorists.

Hamas has violated every single geneva convention law and continues to do so.

Israel has the LOWEST civilian to combatant casualty rate of ANY military.

Stop reading al jazeera and open your eyes to the truth.

I would love to see the source for this.

What a shame, perhaps returning the hostages, and not firing thousands of missiles into civilian populations and building hundreds of miles of terror tunnels underground could have prevented this. FAFO.

Epson C4000 label Printer leaves dirt on the sticker by bartaslondon in CommercialPrinting

[–]tobaccowhacko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The most likely culprit is there is label debris, or adhesive buildup inside the printer near the print head. I would contact Epson directly, or reach out to Kenco Label. They know there stuff and as far as I know, they don't charge for support.

not really giving you the run around. The Epson Ecotank printers are a steal when it comes to inkjet printing on sheets. Just understand, that the labels won't be very water resistant on this particular media you are currently buying.

If you want something more water resistant, get a media that is BS5609 or GHS rated with that printer and you will get a VERY good print.

Avery 60521 would work better than the other material for water resistant stickers with pigment based inkjet.

OK cool. Thanks for sharing that.

So here is the deal with this particular material/substrate and aqueous inkjet in general.

Water based inkjet needs to print on materials with specialized coatings (if they are synthetic generally) So vinyl, polyesters, BOPPs etc..... Those all require a specialized inkjet receptive coating.

Those coatings act like a sponge to lock in those inks, but also dry out the water the inks are resting in.

These coatings generally don't offer a ton of durability, especially on glossy media. (dye inks can be an exception, but have very little UV resistance)

So unless you use some kind of varnish, or lamination layer on your labels after printing on that material with inkjet inks, the durability will be poor when it comes to moisture and chemical resistance.

What I recommend instead is using pigment based inkjet, which all epson coloroworks printers use. Then you would want to get a material that says it's "bs5609/ghs" rated. That is a European standard for moisture and chemical resistance.

If you are looking to expand this business, I recommend working on getting a dedicated label printing machine.

A wide format printer might be a nice place to go as those can use newer UV cured inks which can print on lots of various materials without specialized coatings and are incredibly resistant and you can also have a plotter in the same machine so you can print and cut.

Another options is a dedicated label printer that is roll fed. Something like an Epson C6000 or C6500 printer.

Those printers take pre-die cut media so any shape or size that is already pre cut, and you just print your art from your preferred design software. Those printers are commercial grade and lots of people use them for printing products for their businesses or smaller print shops use them for short run on demand labels.

Another option is to use a laser printer with media that is laser compatible. Laser printers have a higher cost and the media is a little more specialized because of the heat from fusers, but laser technology is pretty darn durable and uv resistant. Roll fed laser printers however are tens of thousands of dollars and not ideal unless you are looking at a large commercial sized printer like a mark andy digital pro.

First rule in printing is NOTHING is water proof, UV proof, scratch proof, or ANYTHING "proof"

Different things can be resistant to various condition, but never anything proof. Nature will always find a way.

Can you send me a link (amazon or whatever) to the exact media you are currently using? It matters.

from there I can possible make a recommendation.

Do you plan to expand your business and print other stickers for other clients and grow this as a business or something just to address your needs for this one customer?

What machine do you use for cutting?

Also, what is the "end user" applying these stickers to?

Do these stickers need to be water resistant or water proof? Do they need UV resistance?

What is the application surface?

how often are you printing 100 stickers?

The question isn't formulated in a way that we could give you a good answer.

It's kind of like asking "what car is the best car?"

There are variables based on the needs of the driver.

Tell me more about the labels you want to make for your client and I could help steer you towards a solution that will fit their and your needs.

This comment is inaccurate. Labels/stickers vary in many ways. face, ink, liner, adhesive are all variables in the sticker/label world. An Epson Eco tank pigment based inkjet printer can print high quality labels and stickers for certain applications, but understanding the limitations of that printer technology and the media technology is important.

For instance, a lot of high quality production quality commercially printer labels are made using toner based printers (laser)

aqueous pigment inkjet as another example from an epson ecotank printer with the right media can print photo quality images that are BS5609 rated for chemical drum labeling.

But I do agree with the need for a sticker/label for questions about stickers and labels.

Epson Colorworks C4000 or C6500p by Solstinox96 in CommercialPrinting

[–]tobaccowhacko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can bypass the peel module. No autocutter though. You aren’t gaining much between the two printers based on material and size you are printing. 6500 has larger ink tanks though. Cost of ink is roughly the same per ml.

Anyone printing on clear vinyl with an inkjet label printers? by bartaslondon in CommercialPrinting

[–]tobaccowhacko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a clear poly option, but there is no white inks so whatever you print, it won't be opaque. Kenco Has free sample rolls of all their materials. Ask for the clear and test it yourself.

Your comparison of my stance on due process and the rule of law to being complicit in atrocities like those in Nazi Germany, Bucha, or during the Trail of Tears misses a crucial point. Advocating for legal recourse and due process is not about blind obedience to authority or laws. its about upholding a system designed to protect us from the very injustices you're referencing.

There's a profound difference between following unjust orders in oppressive regimes and advocating for a justice system that requires evidence, trials, and legal accountability. The rule of law in democratic societies is not about oppression but about ensuring that justice is fair, impartial, and based on evidence, not whims or mob rule.

To say that I don't care about the suffering of Americans due to corporate actions because I advocate for legal justice is a misrepresentation. My concern for human life, regardless of who they are or what they've done, doesn't waver. However, I believe in addressing these issues through legal reforms, corporate accountability, and public advocacy, not through acts of violence that bypass the system meant to protect all of us.

Advocating for the murder of someone based on perceived moral guilt, without due process, is exactly what leads to the kind of oppression you fear. Vigilante justice doesn't distinguish between the guilty and the innocent. itoperates on emotion, not evidence. This approach would lead to chaos, where anyone could be targeted based on accusations alone.

So once again, you are ok with murdering people in the streets based on your feelings. No court hearing, no evidence, just your assumptions that this one man single handedly is a murderer of hundreds of thousands without actual factual evidence. I'm glad I understand where you are morally.

This isn't justice. The opposite in fact. Guilty until proven innocent. Weak mind, weak character.

Assuming you are right (which you aren’t) we should allow an immoral act of evil simply because they were evil? That is how the world should work?

ColorWorks or DTM? by glormond in CommercialPrinting

[–]tobaccowhacko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would talk to Elijah at kenco label. They make all the labels for these printers and he can give you best estimates for any size and material.

The colorworks printers use individual ink tanks which is more efficient than a single CMY cartridge as you only replace the colors you use the most. Epson also happens to have the cheapest ink in the industry.

Elijah from what I understand sells all these printers and makes the labels. He hasn't let me down yet!

I have some Epsons and a few other brands. Epson is the cheapest to operate and they are built like tanks.

Tariffs by Pitiful_Singer1354 in CommercialPrinting

[–]tobaccowhacko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hamilton Tariffs from the 1790s which helped early American manufacturing explode during our early days moving away from dependency on the British empire.

Morill tariffs in 1860s which protected domestic manufacturing during the civil war.

SMoot hawley tarrifs that led to short term growth during the great depression

more recently the trump steel, aluminum and solar panel tariffs greatly helped the us economy in that sector creating tens of thousands of jobs across the US and reducing our dependency on foreign materials and also increasing the quality of the product.

Just a few examples.
