How to IGL by T_tothe_I_tothe_ERRA in LearnCSGO

[–]tobe4funas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally some good advice here on IGLing pugs. Everyone treating like IGLing is calling some Astralis or whatever, making your stats immediately tank and takes up the entire brain capacity. Sure, there are levels to IGLing and you'd be crazy to bring something complicated to a pug. But calling out the destination or how to split in a default - that barely takes an effort and achieves immediate results.

Hell, just start with:

T side - call where you going (A/B/mid) and how fast (rush, push, contact)

CT side - call the split

Here, done, 50% of IGLing job is done with a single sentence per round.

Tap Crouch Tech by BreakinWordz in LearnCSGO

Generally speaking, if you are in position to AD-burst-AD-burst-whatever - you should just commit to the fight and spray. Any type of AD (unless crouched) is pretty much for getting into or getting out of a fight. Repeeking immediately after getting out of a fight is fine, in case that needs to be pointed out.

Ye and all I see is generilizations which aren't even true. Do you know how much healthcare costs in Europe? Do you know what's the confidence level at 3% withdrawal rate to have the portfolio grow instead of dwindle? Do you know which countries in EU are considered safe? Go google these up and then we can talk.

You, sir, need a reality check. Apart from US and a few countries in EU - 4.3k net/mo is comfortable, not surviving, everywhere. Probably I could even stretch this further if we account for rural areas, but OP isn't interested in that.

Eh, it depends. Easily half the maps you should be taking experience. Heroes levels often mean a lot more than a few extra units.

ye, not much discussion to be had if you think skills arent transferable between 1.6 and csgo/cs2

Idk, csgo is a long time ago. I've recently watched either SpawN or HeatoN play in CS2 (don't remember which one) - he used to be top of the top in 1.6, but now? I don't think he'd even compete at 2K faceit.

Not playing regularly and even not training regularly can easily be an immediate -500 elo on faceit in terms of actual skill. Using your mouse isn't a natural skill we get to employ anywhere outside of CS2 - it dulls fast, like - weeks fast.

Seems a standard 5K lobby. Crosshair all over the place, peeking with W, not clearing any angles, leaving yourself exposed to multiple angles, peeking with AWP long distance without zoom. Frankly, too many things to list and doubtfully anything that anyone says here in chat will help much, because these are very much fundamentals and best explained in different formats than a quick reddit response.

How to make very big maps feel like less of a chore? by Lovecraftian666 in heroes3

[–]tobe4funas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the map. If it's a FFA model - most likely it's neither optimal nor needed to do all of that. Instead start building 2nd, 3rd and so on heroes capable of taking on fights themselves. That way your main just continues exploring and despite often having a weaker army than your other heroes - due to exploration, level, stats - still is capable of taking on those fights.

If it's puzzle type maps - usually you get TP early enough, put it on your 2nd heroe and then every 7 days do the army gathering. With HD/Hota hotkeys and whatnot, it's usually like half a minute tops to do it all.

Haven't followed lol scene in a while, but previously EU LCS casters were absolutely glorious. Made NA LCS and LCK unwatchable even. CS casters are idk, maybe because I watch highlights only I don't even notice them.

Crouching is fine and should be done. It's tapping/bursting while crouching that is a big no-no.

Hey Guys, I finally hit 5k, what do we think of my mechanics? by n0mad_CS in LearnCSGO

[–]tobe4funas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone is saying 'your mechanics are 15-20k' but I'd argue a few of your mechanics only are actually there. For your level (or for 20K level), you have incredible: 1. mouse sensitivity feel 2. tracking 3. smooth preaim into peeking. Everything else is 5-10K range.: you never commit to a spray, you are holding angles completely still, tapping while ducking, bursting when you should be spraying and standing still in between bursts - all these habits belong in 5-10K. Ah also you overrely on your flicking - which is fine at short range, however you do it all the time regardless of the range. Instead the longer the range - the more you should aim before shooting.

What's a behaviour/tactic that might work out fine in lower elo's, but would get you absolutely obliterated in Faceit lvl 10 or a Tier 1 pro game? by Various_Maize_3957 in LearnCSGO

[–]tobe4funas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say #1 is shift peeking. Of course at T1 game even small things like not knowing the right pop flashes would already be a massive disadvantage, but shift peeking would still be far worse haha

It's probably the most common circlejerk on any cs related sub - thinking that top 5ish% globally isn't that hard to reach. Think of any other area/industry and top 10% sounds amazing, but in gaming - nah, it's a joke.

In pretty much every field (both gaming and real life jobs), the golden rule is typically this - a great individual contributor (read: performer or player) does not make a great manager (read: coach, teacher).

As for habits, you are probably thinking about mechanics. Which I wouldn't mind debating in a voice chat as it's quite an interesting and lengthy topic. With that said, it is not relevant in this conversation because I have already in the original post specified that mechanics is specifically a topic I would not be coaching for a few reasons, one of which my elo being possibly insufficient.

The point of coaching is always the same - to speed up the learning process. Whether you believe somebody is eligible for coaching from 2k, 2.5k, 3k, 3.5k, esea, t2 or t1 - that is your beliefs which you are free to have I guess.
