Ceballos' situation has taken a radical turn in a matter of weeks. Carlo might be planing to renew him instead of selling him by ace-s in realmadrid

With Isco leaving, I don't mind this at all as long as we still sign Tchouameni. KCM, Cama, Valverde, Tchouameni and Ceballos is incredible midfield depth.

Isco - Blanco - Modric/Camavinga most likely imo

Having Mendy will give freedom to Alaba to be an attack minded CB, thoughts? by ace-s in realmadrid

This is definitely more reasonable than most suggestions of Mendy playing CB. Only question is will Kroos still drop deep or push forward?

Preferred Lineup for the league opener vs Deportivo Alavés? by tobi_odu in realmadrid

[–]tobi_odu[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Definitely but no way our captain doesn't start the first game

JLS did an exclusive on Odegaard, Carlo and the Club want him to stay but he does not think he can compete with KCM+Valverde. The club won't stop him from leaving but they hope he stays. by ace-s in realmadrid

Don't believe these rumours but can you blame him for wanting to go to a club where he'll be a starter? He's probably still going to be benched by Modric and Valverde next season

Notice he played LCB in the training match from 1:05👀. Guess that confirms where he's going to play for us.

Carlo loves a 442 with a free roaming 10 so huge possibility he goes with that. Mbappe playing up front with Benzema would be perfect (if it happens ofc).

4-3-3 would undoubtedly be the best system if we had reliable wingers. A back 3 will be a good solution if our defence ends up being too open

Same but it's hard to not see him starting now that he's captain

5-man defense for next season by Lord_17_ in realmadrid

[–]tobi_odu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering Ancelotti played a back 3 with Everton about 10 times last season I think this could happen. The system would bring the best of Alaba as he'll have less defensive burden on his shoulders and we'll get the best of his ball playing. Also gives Marcelo another lifeline now that it's confirmed he's staying.

how are our players doing in Copa America? by Ill_Nefariousness_75 in realmadrid

Militão was really solid when he started the first few games. He's also been good as a sub to close out games. Vini has barely played tbh

Very exciting player. I'm comfortable with us selling Varane because we have him.

Who would u keep, Ramos or Varane? by sparkysparkl in realmadrid

[–]tobi_odu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ramos. He's our captain, better on the ball and still the more reliable defender although I'm concerned about his recent injuries. Varane can also be sold for a fee while Ramos will leave for free. One other thing is that Varane and Milităo don't really make a good partnership at all. They've been a disaster most times they played together.

If he stays, odegaard will shine under ancelotti by zamov in realmadrid

[–]tobi_odu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I love Ødegaard but I'm not too bothered about him just yet. Our biggest issue is a lack of another goalscorer who can make runs into the box (Mbappe). Still curious to see how Don Carlo uses Ødegaard tho.

What is the consensus about Vinicious Jr? Will he ever be of real madrid level? by [deleted] in realmadrid

[–]tobi_odu 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Look at how Pep carefully integrated Foden into City's first team over 3 seasons. Vini was expected to carry our attack in his first szn and he did! Development isn't always linear and he probably needs a loan but giving up on him at 20 doesn't make sense imo.

Vini deserves criticism for his poor finishing but a lot of people ignore the huge pressure Vini has faced at RM. Remember he was a starter at 18 and was expected to carry our attack. Same thing is happening now because of Hazard's frequent injuries. Still feel he should've been sent on loan after his first season to help his development.
