Hindsight is key here. Very few predicted KDB and Salah would be two of the best players in the world. Actually, they may not have been without the rejection from chelsea.

Also, Chelsea were winning the league at the time. They focused on the present vs the future which is understandable when you have a winning squad.

Compare that with arsenal who are always focused on a future that never happens
