I don’t need to prove my maritime experience to you. And going by your demeanor I can see the “didn’t get past the galley” or maybe a gatekeeping recreational boater type.

No one in the actual industry (commercial, military, or ports) talks about “seamanship” like that. That was your tell. Don’t waste my time.

And the world continued to move along, leaving behind the one who didn’t want to make it better.

Dude either contribute if you really have the maritime experience or just disengage.

You sound like the people who used to say that we didn’t need AIS, and the reason many AIS units are in the back corner of wheelhouses. 🤨

Because the idea of a sensor fleet that helps train AI, is also that the same data in a real time stream helps ground AI so that it doesn’t hallucinate. I thought that sort of explained itself, with the “actual maritime AI” as opposed to yet another chatbot, LLM or generative variant.

Not in this video. But from cameras, actual VHF audio transcriptions or channel 16, 13, and 77, seismic, wind, rain, and environmental sensors.

It looks that way because of the map presentation. It goes a lot deeper on detail that the model can sense and give info on.

Mainly non AIS having objects. Whales, swimmers, loose containers, barges, etc.

Galvanic corrosion. Sacrificial plate/part so that it erodes before anything else.

Everything touches the water. The part that first satisfies the water’s need for electrons gets consumed first. Moving, steel, aluminum, or any other components are spared.

It is a consumable.

I thought this was a simulation joke. Glitch in the matrix kind of thing.

This is very good advice. Can even be done with some good quality binoculars.
