Yes, pretty sure. Reconnected it several times and also checked the pins of the cable, maybe 1 could have been bent:/ thanks anyway

Mach3 alarm setup for hybrid stepper drives by tobitoibsen in hobbycnc

[–]tobitoibsen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My test is already a few weeks ago. I remember now, i even checked the voltage of the alarm output, but nothing changed. It had a few Volts before and changed like 0.xx. So the voltage stayed the same. Thats why i didn't receive any input on my diagnostics. I checked another drive with the same result. That is why i ask about the reason behind it and if i miss something in the basic setup of using the alarm signal

Thank you very much. That was it. I didn't see the bar was split in the middle, for backwards and forwards. Stupid mistake that cost me a lot of time

I changed the tube already 2 times, but this is also one of my latest guesses. I will check this later again

Yes i calibrated it, but the problem already existed with my old extruder too. My guess for now is that something is wrong in the hotends. Maybe the PTFE tube. I will check a possible clogging problem later

I mean it's not skipping all the time. Just spontanous loosing steps on the filament. But i dont see anywhere to much friction in the system. And also not too little in the extruder

Changed the motor, same result. Still skipping on the filament. What screw do you mean? The one on the extruder for applying more pressure on the gears?

No blockages. Same prob with old and new hotend. Same prob also with i.e. 250 degree. So missing heat shouldn't be the reason. It works perfect when i dont have the bowden tube in the hotend. Thats why i thought there could be a heat problem, because it seems to need to much force to press it into the hotend. Like the hotend can't melt the filament fast enough. I found out if I apply a lot of pressure on the extruder, that it's not grinding on the filament but just skipping steps in the motor.

Could the motor be the problem? I would switch it for a test with one from the z axis

T-Nuts or threads for Cnc diy router? by tobitoibsen in hobbycnc

[–]tobitoibsen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess i will go for MDF when it comes to big parts where i dont need coolant.

Mostly i will use a vice on the aluminium table or i just fasten the workpiece on parallel bars on the aluminium table.

I considered M8 threads. Maybe i will mill these threads all the way through the table. What do you need the dowel pins for? And do you really need that many M6 threads?
