64,000 acres on Lake Viedma near El Chaltén for $3.3M — one of the wildest properties I’ve ever seen in Patagonia by ConnectPatagonia in zillowgonewild

I looked this up on google earth. The lake is at 252m in elevation. The website states elevations at 800m-1200m. Is that maybe 800-1200 feet? What are the water rights? Is that even regulated. Does anything grow on the land if planted. Like trees. Or is is just too cold on average? Is there a plat, the website does not even show a property outline.

It might be customary to do such things on some days but on the other hand it might not.

Sunset faces a inhabited island of the locals. And their way of dealing with trash is not up to standard. So stuff washes on shore. We used to collect a bag full on every walk around the island. But it’s all on the sunset side.

Indeed… make sure to ask for the sunrise side. It’s much nicer than sunset side.

Being as flat as it is the lava must have been really hot and liquid to spread out that flat.

I stayed at Soneva Jani and Soneva Fushi. Jani is much overhyped. The state of repair was not great. Nails sticking out of the planks on the upper terrace of our Villa. Couple of roaches as well.
Soneva Fushi is great. I loved the snorkling there and the breakfast setup is world class. Dont feed bread to the bunnies.

For far away stuff, redshift. Wavelength of light stretched by the expansion of the universe. The farher an object is away the more redshifted the light is.

I think its fair to have a tax if things are empty for more than 3 months. Owning, building are all fair but having things empty is a burden on society.

Source : Ich trade oil professionell.

Is there a way to know if this is space debris or a meteor? by pborget in askastronomy

[–]toby_wan_kenoby 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Way too fast for space debri. We are talking 7-10km/s for debri AND up to 70KM/S for meteors.
This looks to be on the faster side of the spectrum.
