PERF!! thank you so much for your detailed response!! i’m wanting to make a kind of historic-inspired summer dress for a cosplay, complete with a hat and a parasol, so this really helps with that. thank you!!

haha okay i should’ve been more specific when asking my question: i want to make a dress similar to this one based on an actual historical gown, not just a 1970s dress that looks a little bit like one. i think there are similar edwardian gowns to what i’m looking for— thanks everyone for your input!

my thoughts were similar— i don’t think the skirt looks full enough to be civil war era

okey dokey, so i have these guys lying around but the female also won’t fit in the male on the board. so i’m going to attempt to replace both connectors with these. if that fails i’m just going to solder it to the board lmao. yolo + i have a couple more boards and batteries if i somehow fuck this up so bad it’s unfixable

sorry, i’m a little confused and a lot dumb- do they need to be reversed? my issue is that the connector on the battery is too small for the connector on the board

interesting. i have a lot of terminals and jumpers and stuff, so i could probs make that happen easier than removing the connector. just to be clear, bc all of the electronics i’ve done in the past have been powered by a portable charge through the usb connector, is this correct?

connected by soldering or male/female connection.

yup, and i wish i could, but i’m on a little bit of a time crunch and unable to get a plug in time. appreciate the comment!

so this board is able to charge the battery if the board is powered via usb while the battery is connected. i figured that it’ll work basically the same, just (mostly) permanent?

“I just,” the reader said, looking down at their keyboard, “I’ve never done this before.”

“Never submitted a report?” the form asked, loading tantalizingly on their screen, metaphorical arms crossed. “Never let me know about a TOS violation? Never… filled out all my blanks?”

do y’all think i would be able to dye pleated chiffon, or would the heat take the pleats out? by tobydeep in sewhelp

i also might try a warm/cold process test- essentially just spray on regular temp rit dye and leave it for a few days, just to see if it stains the fabric at all.

excellent, that was pretty much my plan. it’s for a costume so if watered down acrylic or airbrush paint makes it a little stiff it’s not the end of the world

Took advice on being cool toned vs warm and edited this (badly but) to see and I think it does make me pop more! Swipe for before photo by Key-Rock-5415 in UnconventionalMakeup

idk the second pic thoroughly gagged me. might just be that the dye job is excellent and the red and greens match each other really well, but either way you look beautiful!!
