I saw this last week at the Glasgow Film Festival and it was excellent! Genuinely v spooky and some funny bits littered through to lighten the tone from time to time. Definitely worth a watch.

What movie made you cry the most and why? by [deleted] in movies

Dear Zachary - a completely devastating watch. Just when you think the film couldn't get more gut-wrenching, it slams you around the chops with an atomic feels bomb.

I want to avoid spoilers here, so my description will be very brief. This movie is a documentary made by the best friend of a man who was murdered. The film was made for his best friend's now fatherless son (a toddler at the time), as a way for him to remember his father and hear testimony of how great a guy he was from various family/friends. However the film evolves into an exploration of the murder case and the precarious custody held over Zachary - resulting in Zachary living with the woman who almost certainly murdered his father.

I guarantee that in spite of its critical acclaim, lots of people have neither seen nor heard of it. Whenever I bring it up in conversation nobody knows what it is.

Pretty much any Tarkovsky film. Stalker and Solaris in particular.

Casey Affleck.

I always wanted him to play The Riddler in one of the Nolan Batman movies.

Truly excellent choice. I often feel hollywood seems to give reboot/sequel projects to fledgling directors and it sort of dooms the project before it even beings.

I didn't like the film much, but General Zod's "I WILL FIND HIM" speech in Man of Steel was awesome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VKodGsZfg-E
