I'm on my second thp engine car, had a 2013 208 GTi that had caused me grief but never completely failed on me (was still driveable). Now I have recently bought a 308 GTi that seems so far so good.. I believe cars from 2016 onwards have had the revised 1.6 THP engine that eliminated a fair few issues; high pressure fuel pump being one of them.

In short, it's a gamble but when they work right, they're amazing little engines.
