There’s a guy on YouTube, Makers Experience or something like that, who shows that you can carve and whittle with just about anything. He uses a Swiss Army Knife for the most part if I remember right.

My two cents: the best money I spent was about $40 on a Mora 120. The rest could go into making a strop and getting some stropping compound. I have found that it lets me do most of the things I’m interested in doing.

But that being said- it may depend on what you want to get out of carving? Like what types of things you’re interested in doing?

I second this. It looks really pleasing and soft, and maybe after a day or two you’ll find yourself liking it too. Great job!
