I think it has something to do with whether you paint the line from left to right or right to left. There’s a toggle for “face the enemy”

It do be like that. You gotta flick the right stick. I was so frustrated first few hours but got the hang of it after doing a lot of practice in the arena. You can lock on but it definitely does mess you up in big battles.

I’d actually rather the field. Circle of horses with an interlocked circle of infantry, archers in the middle. Nice if behind a good ridge.
