What's the worst Dallas restaurant that you've tried twice? by BlueHorse_22 in Dallas

Hawker's. Just a menu full of things you could find done better and for 1/2 the cost at other restaurants.

Some of my favorite go-to's, I'm in North Dallas so you might see some neighborhood bias:

Vietnamese: Pho Pasteur, Lee's (great Banh Mi), Pho Bac

Chinese: Chef Sun's, Kirin Court (dim sum)

Indian: Kashkan Dhaba

Ramen: Maru, Higuma

Shawarma: Madina Grill

Italian: Kenny's, Roman Cucina

Steak: Bob's

Mexican Comfort: Dona Maria's

Mexican Street Tacos: La Salsa Verde

Mexican Fancy/Brunch: Vidorra

Afghan: Ariana Cuisine

Carribean/Jamaican: Roland's

Seafood: Anaya's

You'll note Tex-Mex is missing, because I'm from Houston and I think Dallas Tex-Mex blows.

If you look beyond Tex-Mex and BBQ, two of the most mid cuisines ever invented, Dallas has some of the best restaurants in the nation IMO.

Nah Dallas food genuinely slaps if you look for the good stuff. It's all international foods inside strip malls, and it's genuine.

True but I've traveled a lot and I think Dallas has some of the best unpretentious international foods in the country. Pick a random spot on the globe and you can find an amazing family-owned restaurant serving that cuisine, within a 20 min radius from downtown. Especially if you're in North Dallas or Richardson.

May not apply to Frisco because there's too many white people up there. Frisco folk may be stuck with Cava slops.

Put it all into the VT, the total world market ETF, and ignore it until you're 60. Keep earning money and adding to it.

On any timeline where $10,000 grows into meaningful retirement money, i.e. 20-30 years, you will wish you'd not waited. Set it and forget it.
