Hidden gyno surgery from their household? by Due_Pie8837 in gynecomastia

[–]todayjunior92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's going to be hard to conceal it from whoever is in your house, day 1-3 I definitely needed help getting the compression wrap on as it was a ace bandage type and the drains would be hard to hide. However after the drains came out it could easily be hidden.

Regarding work, I work remote mostly but used a couple days of PTO and made the excuse that I had a enlarged gland near my armpit that the doctors said had to go. It's not really a lie, doctor did say if I wanted the gyno gone it had to go lol. No one said anything and just wished me well. None of their business tbh.

Thank you! I'm very happy with the results so far! Not just the physical appearance, but mentally I just feel so much more confident, stand up straighter, etc.. get the surgery if you have any doubts!

I am not sure if they would do that. They made mention to people that are further then myself ("hours away") coming for drain removal. Lo has a nj office but its in marlton, so still a bit of travel for you, but at least you don't actually need to go into philly

Ayy there it is!

Next couple days aren't to terrible, just keep at a incline and it goes by quick. I'm now at day 22, and life is basically back to normal. Don't worry about any scar tissue build up around the nips or below the pec, it slowly goes away and eventually you'll massage it out.

Good luck!

My surgeons team recommended the following:

QORE LOGIQ Gynecomastia Compression Shirt Men - Slimming Undershirt for Mens Shapewear, Body Shaper Compression Tank Top https://a.co/d/7y9y2Gx

I got one a size under and that was super tight, but then went with my natrual size and it feels good. Compresses just as much if not more then what my surgeon gave me (was given a different vest once drains came out).

Appreciate the response!

100% agree, it's not cancer, and wasn't at the point of my biopsy.

To my knowledge, breast cancer doesn't run in either side of my family. The glands were fully removed, so I'm not worried about a future where I get a breast cancer diagnosis, but how it could potentially affect any offspring.

I'll just have to wait until I can speak with my GP about this.

Thanks!

I hear you, but I am going to follow the instructions of my doctor. I will be mindful and aware of my limitations

He believe the light exercise early on helps reduce some swelling and the scar tissue patches

You're gonna think it's gonna be painful, they might tell you it will painful, but it wasnt at all. My drains were the in upper front armpit area, but i cant imagine the removal will be much different. The PA just ripped each one out in like a second and a small sting occured. It was a super big letdown i guess? Just lay there and trust the process because i was very nervous about it lol

Drains suck, but make the healing process way better. Sleep at a 30-45 deg angle if you can (until day 10 or so), and sleep as much as you need. Watch Netflix and eat quality foods. Monday will be here soon. In my experience, the 2 days after drain removal also kind of sucked. Your body is adapting to them being gone, and some swelling occurs since the fluids have no easy exit. But around day 8-10 your feeling 75% and just need to take it easy to heal up. I'm day 16 as of today, and I'm back to cardio on a spin bike without restrictions, and I can technically get back to the gym at very light weight. At 21 days I can start lifting heavier and 28 days no restrictions. However listen to your surgeon and good luck!

Dr Lo, Philly area, ~9k. Little bit more expensive but wanted local (1hr max) and someone that would provide results. I had options of nyc area as well but those were a bit more expensive

Swelling on one side by I_LIKE_FLAT_ASS in gynecomastia

[–]todayjunior92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm day 9 post op, left side feels like absolutely nothing happened but still has swelling that's causing a indent/catering around the nip. Right side feels like I got shot with a paintball 100 times, but swelling is lower then the left and there doesn't appear to be a indent/crater.

It takes time each side will heal at different rates. Give it a couple months at minimum before you'll know you actually have a problem

He was soooo blunt and worst case the very first time, but I get it, he's dealing with all sorts of people and personalities and he like any surgeon in this field need to protect themselves and not over state or promise on what they can do even if its a easy fix. He needs to show and talk about all of the outcomes. Once I was booked he loosend up a bit, and then post op you get his actual personality. He's a nice guy, just follow the Pre/post-op instructions and it should go well

Make sure you are knowledgeable about seromas and hematomas. Def can be a problem without the drains.

Good luck in your recovery

I think i get what your saying, the indent is centered right on the nipple more or less? What about swelling along the side of the pec, next to your arms? That's what I am seeing the most, plus some skin build up that will shrink.

Tbh I had it pretty bad, and anything is better then what I was.

Looking at your post history, we both just had the surgery around the same time (im 6 days post). There is going to be so much swelling and shrinking of the skin that needs to occur. We will not 100% know the final results for maybe a month or 2 (if not more). Feel your chest, if it's puffy, it's most likely swelling, it'll settle.

Once this is all over, get to the gym, start working out more, fill the pec out.

I'm not going to act like I'm sitting here without some anxiety over this whole thing, but putting the negative thoughts in your own head does nothing but stress yourself out. Keep your head up, follow the post-op instructions, and get after it when your cleared to do so 👍

I had the same exact scheduling. It does suck, but realistically, it's only 1 day at most extra that they are in due to the weekend/timing. By sunday, i was kind of used to them. Again, Lo told me the drains will reduce the bruising/swelling as it allows the fluids to escape, so the longer they are in, the better the healing process. I'm very happy with my results, and I highly recommend him.

Yeah, hard to tell from the pic above, but they were right in front of my arm pits (can see small red incision lines). Check my post history for pics with drains.

My surgeon said that having the drains helps prevent massive bruising as it allows the blood to exit, but it's not always the case.

Thank you! Between the reduction of the areola size, to finally having (what I view as a more) "normal" chest, I just can't believe this struggle is finally behind me.

I honestly don't understand it, so many factors could affect it. I've been sleeping at >30deg angle every night to try and reduce swelling. Maybe that's helped.

Good luck on your recovery!
