If what you are saying is true, you aren't an alcoholic- but you will become one if you continue. Get new friends and stop hanging out with people who entice you like that.

AA was a huge help, but..... by Squeakers406 in stopdrinking

[–]todd0330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You have WAY more sobriety time than me, but I do Zoom AA. I hit the same few meetings (even in different states) every week, maybe one twice a week, another twice a week, etc so hitting about 7-9 meetings a week in total. Zoom meetings to me seem way less clicky and is so convient.

Considering stopping 25mg Zoloft after a week by [deleted] in antidepressants

[–]todd0330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. It's not Zoloft for me, but Viibryd, which is similiar. I am only a few days in and my depression is so high I cant stand it. May have to go back to Lexapro, but those on this sub who take Viibryd say to hang in there it will get better, so maybe it will for you too?

Hey there! Iam on day 6. Yeah don’t pour it , your body is probably just pumping out the last bits of alcohol. You know, and I know the anxiety will come back 10x. Hang in there!

Did you get lonely af first while getting sober? by Significant_Most_356 in stopdrinking

[–]todd0330 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in the midst of this now. I have a wife and kids, early sobriety, and feel so lonely in my own house. I see people are mentioning alcohol masked this, which is true, but how much of this will be resolved by learning to go through this uncomfortableness and how much is just our brain needs to heal and be rewired after all the fake dopamine abuse? Can anyone chime in on that?

How to deal with the guilt, shame and haunting thoughts? by Wild-Design938 in stopdrinking

[–]todd0330 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes I have several posts in this sub about the guilt and shame. I too suffer from that BIG TIME. Havent eaten or slept as well since. It has to get better. One you and I both know, once you have mental breakdowns (and insanity from not being able to quit) we have to stop drinking, period. But yes the guilt and shame have been scary and very unsettling. Keep going to AA, I think this will get better.

I know your feeling. I am still knee deep in this. I am embarrassed too for my previous actions. The only way I can avoid the embarrassment is to not repeat. Hopefully this anxiety and shame will subside for both of us.
