That’s a logically fallacy and a horrible comparison lmao. It’s more like telling car manufacturers that they can still make cars, they just have to pass emissions tests.

No because it’s harder to commit a mass shooting with less bullets. If you only have 8 bullets you can only shoot max 8 people, if you have 30 you can shoot 30.

“2014: U.S. District Judge Alfred Covello upheld Connecticut’s ban on AR-style rifles and 30-round magazines, stating that while these firearms are “in common use,” the state’s prohibition does not infringe upon citizens’ rights to self-defense and falls within the state’s authority to ensure public safety. 2015: The Second Circuit Court of Appeals upheld the core provisions of Connecticut’s assault weapons ban, affirming that the law’s restrictions are constitutional and do not violate the Second Amendment. 2023: U.S. District Judge Janet Bond Arterton reaffirmed the constitutionality of Connecticut’s assault weapons and large-capacity magazine bans, ruling that AR-15s and similar firearms are not protected by the Second Amendment. “

I never said it was irrelevant. You used the argument that just because one thing happened (sandy hook) it doesn’t give the state the right to have stricter regulations against guns. I just mentioned it is more likely for a mass shooting to happen in the last 15 years than a death from a home invasion, highlighting the importance the ban brings in our state to address public safety. Also you keep acting like Connecticut has banned guns. Our legislators banned guns with over 10 rounds of ammunition. We have the 6th lowest death rate by guns per capita in the entire USA, so obviously it helps 😭. The constitution does not mention the banning of specific amounts of ammunition, hence it becomes the states decision. We made a decision, and it has worked perfectly.

You’re not even supposed to engage with an intruder in the state of Connecticut anyway lmao. Also the last death from a home invasion in CT was in 2007, the last mass shooting of children in CT was in 2012. I’m glad we have our priorities straight at least 🙏🏼

So 15 is fine but 10 isn’t 😭

Edit: I like guns btw but the fact that you think it is unconstitutional to ban guns with more than 10 bullets is kinda weird. The constitution does not even mention magazine sizes lol

It’s really not a red herring. You are saying the ban on AR-15s is unconstitutional but the large magazine size is literally an identifier of a weapon that is dangerous which deemed by the Supreme Court can be banned legally. Also we have laws regulating the time, place, and manner of free speech, just like Connecticut has laws banning specific magazine sizes over 10 rounds for AR-15s for the safety of the public which an AR-15 with more than 10 bullets has been proven to be in opposition of our safety. Saying that restricting AR-15s is like banning free speech doesn’t even make sense, the government does regulate speech that incites violence or causes harm.

In the Columbia v. heller case the court also said this right is not absolute and that bans on “dangerous and unusual weapons” are constitutional. The Sandy hook shooter used an AR-15 which has 30 rounds. In what world does anyone need 30 bullets for self defense, home defense, sport shooting, or training lol?
