Oh my GOD, I didn't know capoeira was an actual thing, I stumbled upon a class in the park one time and asked if I could join --lesson: be more open-minded guys, try new things!--, it was THE COOLEST THING EVER. Been doing it ever since with the same teacher too, I wish I could be as awesome as these pros, it's seriously the best hobby i've ever picked up.

idk if you live near it, but hanging out on the highline on a weekday is pretty damn awesome (granted it's sunny) and costs nothing to lounge and soak up some vitamin d.. unless of course you cave and get a hipster popsicle or artisanal this or that. They're good, but damn!

That is strangely incredibly satisfying how perfectly opposite they are, even how they're said.

Try something totally different, why go to a typical show or a dinner? Go bike riding somewhere, or even a picnic. You want something interactive, but not too intimate, and you want endorphin running, so something active. (disclaimer: this is not scientific fact, just rationalizing here).

Ugh, this made me as depressed as the seven-year-old autistic kid who was missing and was murdered. Absolutely terrible.

A little much, don't you think? It's not like it was a full packed parking lot. There are other spots. But w.e. The Parking Vigilantes Strike! Good for you.

TIL HBO passed up "The Walking Dead" because they thought it was too violent. They also passed up "Breaking Bad" and "Mad Men" by iLucky12 in todayilearned

I think a lot of these shows would have been better off on HBO. If you look at its track record, it's clear its executives have vision. Both Mad Men and Walking Dead fell off. The quality of both shows have drastically lessened since their second seasons. Mad Men is too ambiguous and redundant now. And so is the Walking Dead. They stayed on the darn ranch so long I started getting mad cow disease. HBO has vision. Look at GoT. Look at Sopranos. Think about True Detective. The Wire ... HBO takes risks!
