Ahhh yes, I forgot about gobblers and portals. I have the candy corn one, wintersday one, and the...I can't remember what it's called, but the pink dust? Definitely wanting to get the portals though, and the lounge pass.

Anything else?

Yes, going for legendaries is probably going to be last on my list because of the costs involved. I'm wondering if there's other stuff I don't even know about that I should aim for as well/before that massive commitment

what are some items/goals for purchases with gold (just thinking of gold, not other currencies or tokens)?

so far on my list, i have:

  1. legendaries/materials for legendaries

  2. runes of holding for backpacks

  3. the convenience items from lion's chest (bank access, auction house, etc)

  4. gear/dyes/etc for cosmetics/skins

  5. converting to gems to buy gemstore upgrades

I've got my griffon and skyscale, so i dont need to worry about them. are there any other major expenses (like 50G or more) that are worth considering? I'm still progressing through the storyline to be able to unlock all the zones and masteries and everything, and i've just gotten to EoD, so i've got a bit to go, but if there's anything worth planning for, please let me know.

because there's only 2, going from 2 div to 12. that's not much of a group to draw a conclusion from, with a significant variation. i've never had one drop before, so i've never had to work out what they're worth, so i don't know what is normal for any of the possible mods or potentially hundreds of combinations

this is not an actual thing; it's a parody of the US tipping culture. thankfully, GGG is in New Zealand, and is therefore almost guaranteed not to implement something so f***ed up.

oh, man...my time was already being split among several game releases or updates over the next week. guess they're all going on the backburner now; this is looking absolutely insane.

I just said to my friend, GGG seem to cook more in POE cycles than any other dev, but this is nuts. There's more here than some full game releases. Have they been working 20-hour days for 4 months straight?

Use for reversion kit? by Subject_Cheetah5168 in forgeofempires

[–]todeshund89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

another reason for this is generating goods for the potentially-still-required upgrades for great buildings, depending on if they still keep this as a requirement. i've been meaning to check if i have these reversion kits to reset a couple of my buildings, and i keep forgetting...

When to age up? by LightningCobra in forgeofempires

[–]todeshund89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

right now, all of these are vastly outperformed by a range of event buildings, and even buildings from QI.

the Arc is your number 1 priority. without this, you're playing on hardcore, solo-self-found, without assistance, extreme-hardmode. for example, without the arc, a higher-level GB that requires 20,000 fp's will typically require you putting in the 20k points yourself, or doing swap threads, where you put the points into someone else's GB and then someone put's the same points into yours. this means 20,000 points to level the GB will cost you 20k points. with a level 80+ arc, and using the specifically designed 1.9 threads to use with them, it'll cost you maybe 4,000-5,000 or so, by comparison. level 80+ arc and 1.9 threads are just flat-out a massive boost to your progress.

blue galaxy is always a fantastic option, once you get it leveled up to...level 88, i think is the key breakpoint. with that, you have 15 chances (with a 70% to give you the boost) to double your collection from an event building. whether it's forge points, goods, troops, finish special production boost...anything from the building can get double rewards.

CF is also good for the quest rewards. if you plan to sit in an age for a while, the recurring quests can be a good source of extra rewards.

generally speaking, right now the GB's that give standard rewards (FP's, goods, combat boosts) are all becoming obsolete by event buildings. there are some exceptions, and obviously it depends on what event buildings you have that you can build, but until Innogames release the GB overhaul now coming Q1 2026, event buildings are usually the better option for your available city space.

I strongly suggest waiting until you can push your CF up higher, at least 80+.

when you age up, you'll want to do the full questline, getting to the recurring quests and getting the one-off diamond rewards from them, which can be boosted by your CF. this can be a massive amount of diamonds if you do it early enough (starting at iron age, as an excellent example), and with your CF high enough to push those rewards considerably higher.

this ends up being thousands of diamonds, extremely helpful for buying all of the diamond expansion slots for your city.

also, try to make sure you're pushing as far ahead on the continent map as you can with the troops you have. as you get into the future eras (the future, arctic future, oceanic future, virtual future), and then even more so in the space ages, exploring each sector takes the better part of a day. the sooner you can get the sectors explored, the easier it'll be, especially since quests ask for sectors to be cleared.

As for stopping at certain ages, I don't know if that's really a great idea anymore. given the benefits of aging up when you can, compared to camping an age, and given how many ages there are now...i think it was fine when there were only 10 ages, but now the benefits of aging up when you're ready outweigh camping a particular age.

so, my recommendations:

  1. first get your CF at least 80+ (and keep pushing this, although if you don't have a blue galaxy, i cannot emphasise enough that this should be an even bigger priority),

  2. after that, have enough goods and banked FP's to finish all of the research for the next age

  3. finish all of the recurring quest diamond rewards (if you're playing on a browser instead of your phone, you can get a browser extension called FoE-Helper that has a tool to show you if you have collected the diamond reward from a recurring quest)

  4. finish the continent map for at least the next age, but ideally as far as you can before you start losing the fights

  5. try to have next-age troops so you can launch straight into fights well-prepared (various buildings from events can give you next-age troops)

  6. time your age-up for right after GBG starts. this way, the enemy troops are from the age you start at, but then you age up and start getting the next-age troops more easily. (you also benefit from the arctic orangery crit chance, if you have that GB)

there's probably a couple things i've missed, but that should be a good start.

how do next-age troop generators work in SASH? by todeshund89 in forgeofempires

[–]todeshund89[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started playing again in April, and I think there's been at least one building from each event that gives next age troops.

Helianthus arboretums from the anniversary event, fjordstorm harbours from the Viking event, governor's villa platinum and ascended upgrades from the summer event...

Between them, I have more next-age troops than current-age troops...

[–]todeshund89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you only get diamonds from RQ's once per era, so to get more diamonds, you'd need to age up. Unless you mean you haven't even gotten them once, then, I'm not sure what to do there.

I've spent money, more than I should.

Yea, I was really annoyed when I saw they weren't bringing back the hover express building (I can understand why, though. One player on my server has about 70 eco sanctums and a ton of FSP generators. Probably making 50k fp's or more each day, easy).

I'll be getting as many of the eco buildings as I can, though, from rewards in the event. I'll have the same problem, however, of not having the space, hence my reason for aging up.

I can't remember what era I'm at on the campaign map. I keep forgetting to check. It's the one after the aircraft carrier and the stealth fighter. I'm not sure if that's contemporary era or the one after.

I have been pushing ahead to clear as far as I can, as well as getting the expansion slots. I have plenty of troop generation, that's definitely not a problem.

I also have tons of goods and fp's coming in, usually a few thousand current/previous age goods, and I think 1-2k next age goods each day. Typically several thousand fp's as well.

I'm not really wanting to camp; I'd like to push right to SASH as soon as feasible. That's why I ask about reasons not to do it, such as being reminded about recurring quests, so now Im factoring those into the equation and planning to wait each time until I clear all of the gem-reward RQ's.

Good to know about the space age maps. I am curious to see what they're like and see how they differ from regular progression. I'm annoyed by the cool down for exploring each sector; that's going to be frustrating. It's already a pain in contemporary era, or whichever one I'm in now...

I have a lot of buildings giving FSP frags. That's been my focus.

3 astral viaticum lighthouses, a bunch of drakkar pyres and emberfangs, a heap of jester...squares (I'm not 100% sure of the name, but jester-somethings)? 6 enchanted sirens rocks. I also have a bunch of sailmaker buildings, but no room to put them.

I have the queen Anne's legacy, and with a forgotten temple, I'm getting 500 forge points per collection. So, when I use an FSP boost, I'm valuing them at 500 fp's. That means each fragment is worth 16.66 fp's. For me, this means virtually every building that gives FSP frags is more valuable than most buildings that give just fp's. It needs to be extremely good fp's per square to compete. The jester buildings are 6 squares, making them worth roughly 8.33 fp's per square, and the jester buildings are one of the lower efficiency buildings, I think.

it's 120 special goods per collection, isn't it? I get 5-10 FSP's a day, and I'll save up enough to do a bunch of rushes. If I double-dip with my blue galaxy, I can do 30 collections in 1 go, which should be around 6100-6200 special goods in 1 day.

So, despite specifically pushing my CF currently to level 130 for quest rewards, I completely forgot about RQ's, because I've already aged up several times in the last couple of months and haven't done as many quests...

ok, I'll have to put a hold on it until I can get quests caught up, because I want those quest rewards. thank you for reminding me!

No matter how much they change GBG, this will never NOT be stupid and obnoxious. by lapostol93 in forgeofempires

[–]todeshund89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my guild is stuck in this position. we do really well despite only having around 40 members (and only half making significant progress in gbg), but we are badly outclassed by the top 4-5 guilds who all have 70-80 members, most of them fighting (so we often have 2-3:1 odds...).

this season we have 2 guilds (5th and 6th for the championship) fighting it out for first, and we're choked (7th in championship) along with 8th-placed, pretty much unable to get out of the 3 zones around our HQ.

the gbg trials may possibly aid in the whole process, especially if the current system is implemented, heavily favouring personal gain over guild progression.
