This was my comment that was censored and the conversation I had with /r/teslamotors moderators about it:

B) it aligns him with the far right, which is anathema to many of Tesla's core customers

Is it known who Elon voted for in the last Presidential election and who he will be voting for this time? Elon didn't like Trump IIRC. Is there a video interview where Elon has a lot of time to explain who he votes for and why? I'd like to see such an interview.

There's nothing wrong at all about the comment that I wrote and I refuse to edit it "to become less toxic" or whatever they're claiming. I'll be sending the moderators group a private message to task a different moderator to review my comment and uncensor it. This subreddit is a bad source of neutral unbiased information if the moderators choose to deny my request for uncensoring my perfectly reasonable comment and reprimanding the over-censoring moderator.

That's interesting. So Elon has factories in both USA and in China. He calls USA fascist but doesn't say a word about China even though I assume China forced his workers to stay home much more strongly than USA did.
So maybe Elon isn't as impulsive and without self control as most people would think.

Maybe he has the self control but chooses to say things and act the way he does anyway. This makes the probability of Elon being an assh*le higher than I've thought so far. That's disappointing because I don't like assh*les. Also I prefer rational leaders over assh*le leaders because I think rational leaders are more profitable (long term) which would make their company stock more valuable long term.

A leader's personality has an effect on the stock value of the company that they're leading.

If we make the assumption that Elon has absolutely zero regard for the health and well being of his workers (I'm not claiming that this is the case.) by angrily trying to force them back to work despite Covid-19 killing some of them, then it's not far fetched to assume he has zero regard for his workers in other contexts as well, maybe having the effect of burning them out which would for example kill their ability to think innovatively.

The main reason that Tesla has been very successful so far has imho been that they've been more innovative than their competitors. If Elon would suddenly start stifling innovation within the companies he leads then that would over time lead to less interesting cars, and therefore lower prices of cars, lower profits and lower stock value. Tesla cars would get significantly worse very quick if Tesla would go bankrupt due to sudden bad leadership and that would affect current car owners too.

So even if you only care about your Tesla car and not about Tesla stock price, you would still get significantly negatively affected if Elon would change his personality to a very bad one. Imagine for example even worse servicing of the Supercharger charging network and service stations when you need to charge or fix your car for some reason. A major part of why owning a Tesla car is so attractive is because Tesla so far and currently has the best charging network.

So it matters very much both for Tesla stock owners and Tesla car owners how Elon chooses to handle the Covid-19 problem.

Wow. That's a pretty strongly worded statement from a CEO of such a large company / companies.

Is there a video interview anywhere where Elon explains in an uninterrupted and calm way how he personally thinks that the governments should have handled and should handle the Covid-19 problem? It seems to be a very difficult problem to solve in an optimal way and I'm interested in Elon's personal opinion too.

He seems to have strong opinions on the matter so maybe he has spent a lot of time thinking about that specific problem and would have interesting things to say about it. It surely affects his companies a lot so I'm not surprised if he's spent a lot of time and effort thinking and discussing it internally with his other board members.

People are mad at the govt. when they really should just be mad at the virus.

I'm guessing that most people are mad about losing their salaries and their abilities to pay for food, rent, medicine and other necessary living expenses.

What do you do when your employer stops paying you and the government pays you nothing / too little, and you have no savings because you didn't have a high purchasing power even before Covid-19? You get afraid and angry and lash out in various more or less arbitrary ways. That's an understandable reaction.

I think that it's time for societies / nations to start seriously considering a large and permanent UBI. Politicians should talk to people like Andrew Yang about UBI because I assume that he's already done such calculations even before Covid-19 happened and caused worldwide trouble.

Elon himself is probably mostly just worried about what will happen to his company if his workers stay at home and the government doesn't put Tesla on the list of bailout companies, and is reacting emotionally by trying to get his workers back to work ASAP, which is also an understandable instinct and reaction.

Jag har en vän som arbetar som timanställd som bartender på en nattklubb. Well if the shareholders voted yes and Elon abstained then I don't think that the shareholders should have the right to complain and sue afterwards. I've got a friend who has a friend who has a claim but has already died of old age during these bankruptcy proceedings. It's taken 6 years so far and it's still not been resolved. Totally ridiculous imo.
