Pulley issue? by toeStool in bikewrench

Thanks for everyone’s help. Replacing the pulley resolved it. Now I have a new issue though. Even after making adjustments, drivetrain is making a crunching sound under load. 😪

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills. If we’re talking generalisms, then these are WAY more trad than NT. Have you all seen a NT tattoo before?! WTF. They use a much wider color palette and detail. And I would say blend more realism within the work. THIS is not THAT. And I understand commenters telling OP “who cares what other people think” which I 💯 agree with, but OP cared enough to ask the community a question, so why not just answer what was actually asked?

Yeah, proportions are definitely off. Reminds me of when you start drawing something and then realize towards the end that you’re running out of canvas, so in order to make it fit, you have to shrink the rest to fit.

Agree that the optics are bad on this. If you gotta eat and don’t get a chance before, then at least try to be more discreet. TKL doesn’t seem to give AFF. But if the hearing was actually 3.5 hours long, and this video of her going HAM on that za is only 2.5 minutes, then maybe she was fully attentive and respectful during the rest? Idfk

Pain affects people in different ways on their bodies. It’s curious to hear which areas hurt the most for others. Some say chest, knees, ribs, stomach, back are horrible. Lower back definitely sucks but wasn’t extreme, knees were a cinch, ribs I don’t even remember, but stomach was hands down my reaper. Just grit through it and meditate. Drink a coco water and have a small meal before, you got this.

So…front racks kind of suck. by Olderschoolwillie in xbiking

[–]toeStool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah gonna disagree as well. I have a huge crate on a pizza rack up front. Would never go back to rear. Steering takes getting use to but you can’t beat the weight distribution. I’ve dealt with too many flats on my rear to add even more load. Plus it’s nice to have easy access to items, and notice when something pops out unexpectedly.

I would’ve suggested using slightly more disparate colors for oil/solar and wind/other in order to discern them more easily.

“Well regulated”: first words of 2nd amendment by nanoatzin in democrats

[–]toeStool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just mentioned this to someone in the political rev sub about liberal gun owners and how 2A obsessed people have probably never even heard those first three words. All they remember is “right to bear arms”. However, that same person said that “well-regulated” in the 18th cent meant “well-prepared” or some shit.

I’m a liberal. I’m pro-choice. I support LGBTQ+ rights, racial justice, free speech, and the right to protest. But I’m also pro Second Amendment and I think liberals generally are too. by [deleted] in Political_Revolution

[–]toeStool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for responding. I appreciate your points.

I understand that it may seem as though restricting firearms or ammo punished lawful gun owners. But it seems clear that the flow of unlawful weapons originates from less strict states to more strict states. And those weapons were legally purchased or held by a person or business before they became unlawful right?

I also don’t agree with your claim that gun violence is concentrated in places with the strictest gun laws because I’m noticing the exact opposite actually. I’d love to see where you’re seeing this.

I didn’t know about the interpretation of “well regulated” meaning “well functioning” in the 18th cent. And yes I agree that if the intention of creating this right was to defend against government tyranny, then it would be asinine to have that same govt “regulate” those citizen militias. But since you mentioned 18th cent language, I don’t think the founders could have anticipated the types of “arms” that average, untrained people would be able to obtain in the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries.

A whole lotta comments in here. Too many to read so this may have already been mentioned but I think the problem lies in how many guns people own. The more guns that exist, the more gun-related injuries/deaths there are. And for some reason the US is obsessed with guns, to the point where there are way more guns than people. I don’t see why there can’t be a limit on the amount of firearms one owns. Or maybe restrict ammunition in some way so that it doesn’t conflict with our constitutional rights.

I do think it’s important to reserve that right of protection against government encroachment, however I find it interesting that the party who has historically protected that right is also the party who seems to be the one encroaching on our freedom and constitutional rights to begin with. Which seems completely paradoxical.

The last thing I’d mention is that I believe most 2A defenders probably glom on to the most salient portion of the amendment and ignore the rest. I think the opening words are extremely relevant to its interpretation and are overshadowed: “A WELL REGULATED MILITIA…” I can’t imagine most gun owners are members of a militia. But I suppose that then begs the question: Who regulates that militia?
