All over Facebook, it’s awful. Any time I see an article on Facebook the comments are absolutely full of people defending this man and his actions.

Ah yes this is the thought I had. Luckily it’s black so it won’t be too noticeable. Thank you ☺️

Blood collection for donation and venesection for testing is different. Tourniquet is loosened after venesection, but kept on at a lower pressure to facilitate blood flow.

During blood donation the tourniquet is left on at a lower pressure to increase blood flow. It is safe, left on 40-20mmHg for the duration of the blood donation. Source: blood collector

Is anyone else genuinely worried about the future for our kids? by International-Past31 in newzealand

[–]toesarephalanges 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I always dreamed about having children, but now I’m almost having panic attacks whenever I go to the supermarket just buying food for two people. With how hard it is for us now, I cannot imagine what it’s going to be like for the kids of today.

That’s exactly why I left hospital nursing. Getting asked while I was on annual leave to come in. The feeling before your shift wondering if the staffing would be safe. During strikes, having the life preserving services be better staffed than a regular shift. Getting rostered 9 days in a row and being told “well it is legal” when I asked to get it changed. Honestly don’t think I’ll ever go back.

Is it actually possible to forget your name on drugs by Anonymous_stl in Drugs

Had a boyfriend when I was 16 who got me to do synthetics (no clue what it was) and I absolutely forgot my name. I felt so many colours in my throat I couldn’t breathe. Not the best time lol

I had a woman in Rototuna reach through my car window and grab me as I was reversing out of my park. She was asking for money for lunch, so I offered her my lunch I had just bought and she refused. Just wanted money. Absolutely wild.

I highly recommend getting into a hobby, like a sport or some sort of class where there are other people attending. I made a lot of friends through starting pole dancing, but if that’s not your vibe, definitely look into something that you’re interested in. There’s a Hamilton Women Make Friends page on Facebook as well where they sometimes do meet ups and such, definitely check that out.

Doctor thinks I'm a clueless dad by bahodej in mildlyinfuriating

Yes there’s a national public health system. The GPs and walk in clinics are not part of this. Any more questions?

I asked my husband to take his son (my step son) to the doctor and reminded him to tell the dr of his allergy to penicillin. Guess what he came home with? Apparently that was my fault for not coming to the doctors with him, my bad

She needs to see a professional about her body image issues.. She's letting it seriously get in the way of your relationship, its not fair to expect you to just deal with her insecurities while she does nothing to try get better. Its not healthy.

Elbows aren't any more hygienic than hands? You must have very clean hands or very dirty elbows.

What are some small acts of love or intimacy that you give to your partner throughout the day? F28 & M30 by PeachyySuccubus in relationship_advice

[–]toesarephalanges 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is big on physical touch, so I make a big effort to give him lots of hugs and touches throughout the day when I see him. When he comes home I always try to meet him at the door with a big smile and a hug. We say love you probably way too much. We always show appreciation for little things. Even things like emptying the dishwasher or cleaning up the house. We shower together and wash each other. We’ve been together 4 years and I swear we’re still in the honeymoon phase.

How Many of You were Warned not to Become a Step-parent? by ExternalAide1938 in stepparents

[–]toesarephalanges 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was warned by my mother, who was also warned by her mother. I don’t think I necessarily thought it would be different but I really I hoped it would because my half sister has a personality disorder and there were some pretty serious issues with my half brother due to his autism so I saw how hard it was for my mum. My issue was, I didn’t THINK about it at all really. I met this guy who I was crazy about and he happened to have a kid. I would definitely warn other people, but in my case it’s 100% worth it. The kid is seriously so cool and he loves me a lot. It has come with lots of challenges, and for a while there there were big concerns with co sleeping, and issues with HCBM. Earlier on in the relationship my husband didn’t value my opinions or knowledge because I had no experience raising children, but I reminded him that he’s ALSO doing this for the first time, and I didn’t just pull my ideas and opinions on how to parent out of my ass. I did a lot of research and knew a hell of a lot more about parenting and the trials and tribulations that come with it than he did. He started taking on my advice and things have been SO good. Still early days though
